Today's Kikkaider is a good example; it was hard for me to shake the impression that Kel'Thuzad (WarCraft III) was attacking the concept of mechanized conscience.
Spike and the negotiator from big o are same? Whoa, Go David Lucas.
I feel like a geek for knowing his name...
It'd be more of a problem with the obisidian statues, I think. They are mechanical units, after all, and might decide that healing undead units and keeping their mana charged just isn't the right thing for them to do.
And the fact that the Kikkaider robot in question was very vampiric just added to the Kel'Thuzad impression.
