And the downloads folder on the FTP, at last count, was somewhere around 70GB...

Yeh, same problem here. Packrat galore, finally cleaned up a few GB of files, currently at:

Download Folder: 1.94 GB
Music: 15.2 GB
Random Video Files: 15.4 GB
Files/Upgrades: 2.03 GB
Anime: 58.9 GB
---------------------------
93.47 GB

Skipped a few things, just listed the folders with GB of data that I downloaded or copied (music cds I burned).

~40 gigs of movies, and ~ 12 gigs of music here.

My "downloads" folder actually stays pretty small, since I'm not big on keeping around demos of games I'm never going to play.
