You thought this was some advice for you, didn't you? Wrong. It's a request for advice from me.

So, here is my problem: I think I want to get a job. Let me break it down the only way I know how.

Pros of Getting a Job
-I've been pretty bored lately, and a job would give me something to do.
-I like money. My parents give me some, but I'd like to have some of my own so I don't feel like a bleeding mooch.
-I desperately want to return to the bar scene. It would have to be a bar job, so keep this in mind.

Cons of Getting a Job
-The semester hasn't truly begun yet, and I'm not sure if I truly have enough time to set aside for a job.
-It would be a break-away from the party scene.
-A job is hard work.

So, lend me your advice, if you know what you're talking about.

Porn.

You like it, so why not star in it?

Yes, I mock you with my utterly pointless post.

Don't get a job because you're bored. When the semester really begins, the free time will seem like a phantom limb.

If you're really hurting for money, go for it. School + job helps inspire the 'ole work ethic. I honestly think that part of the reason I did so poorly in my second semester of college was my work ethic sliding due to no longer holding a job.
In case you're wondering, the main reason is that I stopped going to class due to a newfound sense of self-importance that made me think, "Why am I doing this? I don't care about this crap. Skool is 4 foolz lol"

Once more into the breach, my friends, once more. We'll close the wall with our dead. In peace, nothing so becomes a man as modesty and humility, but when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with rage and lend the eye a terrible aspect.

I'm about to give you warmed-over Blindy advice, but damn it all, he's right:

Grades
Social Life
Money

When you're in college you get to pick two. Any number of people have managed to work their way through school but I wouldn't recommend it unless it was absolutely necessary, or if your parents were giving you hell about having to support you--though those tend to go together.

Unless you count being at the bar as a "social life" I'd say lay off until you've got a semester under your belt.

Get a campus job, they are designed to be easy. Work security or a library, plenty of time to study and get paid at the same time. Trust me, I worked all through school, it wasn't that tough, and if you land the right job, you will meet many women.

We do have a working bar here on campus...maybe I'll check that shit out.

But I'd like to work in a bar above all else. A) I like it, and B) I need to put in 800 hours of hospitality work to get my degree.

Any work-study programs available in hospitality? Kill three birds with one stone.

I still disagree with this. I'm taking 15-18 credits a semester and my grades are fine, I have not one but two part-time jobs, and I have a decent social life. I cheat a little because the hours for both jobs are dependent on when I feel like working, but I still have to work a certain amount of hours per month for certain benefits. Only real con is that I can't play games as much as I used to. If you can manage a schedule well you should be able to fit all three.

My recommendation, go for the campus bar Parce. You need the hours, you can use the cash, and, most importantly, you like doing it.
