I honestly think that being dumped is so much easier to handle. :/

Depends. But dumping someone who doesn't deserve it is the worst thing I've EVER had to do.

Pfeh. For a guy, you lose either way.
Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Write fast! You're angry, grrr! Make that show, and forget about things like capital letters, punctuation, and verbs.

Well, dumping someone lets you keep more dingity, beeing dumped makes for a better pity party. Personally I don't care either way as long as it's a straightforward dump and not some LJBF bullshit.
Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Fine. I'd probably rather be dumped. Mostly because I don't believe in "dumping" people without trying the hardest you can to salvage the relationship. At least that way I know where I stand.

Counter-question: do you mean...

1) "Is it better to go ahead and dump her before she dumps me, or just wait for the inevitable?"

- or -

2) "Which is the more difficult situation, the one where I must be dumped or where I should do the dumping?"

In Situation 1, it's a question of which option I choose. Either way, I'm in the wrong (or precieved to be in the wrong). My call would be to go ahead and break it off, as I can't see much gain from letting the relationship die a lingering death. And who knows, we might work things out (though that outcome would be outside the bounds of the original question).

In the second, I get to choose which circumstances I'm in, but not which decision I make because of it. I've written and erased this sentence about four times now, to the point where I think being the betrayed is as bad as being the betrayer. For pure gloating purposes I suppose I'd prefer to have the moral high ground, but that's about like saying I'd rather die in the mushroom cloud than the lingering radiation.

I've usually been the one being dumped. My last relationship I was the dumper however. It's really much easier for me to handle being dumped me thinks heh.

I totally agree, I think if someone dumps you they are doing you a favor. They stop wasting your time and save you the trouble of ending a relationship that more than likely was doomed to fail.

However, if your relationship is based on just sex, then being dumped sucks.

Dumped.

Edit - Elaboration: I can't stand to hurt people who I know, and care about in some way. I'd rather get hurt myself.

Getting dumped sucks...especially when it comes out of the blue. If you think things are going well and then BLAMMO...well...that hurts. A lot. If it's a horrific relationship, it's always a relief, but 90% of the time, when one of my relationships ended with me getting dumped, it sucked.

Dumping is hard if you still dig someone...but 90% of the time you do it, it's easier. Especially if the person you're dumping is psycho. My ex was a fucking nutjob, and was getting more and more deranged and nasty with every passing minute. Felt good dumping her. Felt like I jumped clear of a car about to hit a wall. On the other hand, when Candace and I broke up last, and I pretty much made the choice for everyone that I'd leave, and thus technically dumped her, it was the hardest choice I ever had to make, even though I knew it was the right thing for everyone at the time.

So I would say that most of the time, being the dumper is easier than being the dumpee. Taking responsibility for ending a longtime relationship is a terribly difficult thing to do.

It really depends...

I like dumping the guy if I know the fucker deserved it. Like if he cheated on me and I caught him, or lied to me about something pretty big, and I caught him doing that.

If he thinks that the attraction just doesn't seem there anymore, while I'm oblivious to the way he feels -- I'd rather have him dump me. Don't be a fucking dick and "wait it out" until I get the hint that you're no longer interested.

If I think the attraction just isn't there anymore, and he seems oblivious to the way I feel (this is what sucks!!), I have to tell him in the nicest way I can that things just aren't working out.

It's really hard to be the dumper, because usually my relationships ended because I was dissatisfied with things. Only one ended because it was an issue with cheating. I was very honest with the ones I broke it off with, but it hurt me to hurt them, because I still thought of them as friends.

I usually stay friends with former boyfriends. Except the asshole who cheated on me.

I know, but people could make the "mistake" on purpose just to get a crack at you, not the relationship(most people seem to like deth), just you(Ive seen alot of people get mad at you for various acts of whatever)
