Holy crap, this game is FUN! At the moment, I have a level 3 Khajiit(sp?) Monk, who's kicking a fair amount of ass. Kind of sucks that unarmed attacks damage Fatigue before HP, but with enough Unarmed skill and Strength, it only takes a few quick hits to knock enemies down.

Anyone have any newbie tips or recommended mods?

Mods are bad, just play the game normally Once you've beaten it you can mod it.

I have a quick bit of easy advice. In the city Balmora, go to Ra'Virr the trader and kill him. He is a little tough if your a lower level but its not that bad. Once you kill him, go outside and talk to a guard and pay the cash you owe for murder to get yourself off the hook.

After that go back inside and take the 4 daedric weapons on his corpse. Each sell for a good ammount of gold, and to top it off, they all kick ass. The feind katana sells for 45000 by itself.

*Spoiler sort of* Also, in the city Balmora, in one of the towers (not sure which, but there's only three to look through) at the very top is a small bed. If you get at the right angle there is a decent magical sword under it, very nice starting long sword for beginners, but again there is a guard who is standing right there, so you might have a small conflict...

Shadow is nothing but a distortion of light in which an object blocks its path.

If this is true, then why do we fear it?

...45000? Sheeeet!

One question, however: Aside from the obvious answer of "Unarmoured training", what would a Monk spend all that on?

Potions and such most likely, later on it begins to become expensive, and a little extra cash never hurt anybody. As you progress your going to find out you need a lot of healing, levatation, and other various potions, all of which become increasingly rare and expensive.

Ra'Virr drops a feind katana (45000) devil spear (19000) feind dagger (6000) and feind tanto (6000)

Pfft, don't do whatever Ryouki sensei said.

Things like that ruined the game, you know.

At least it did for me.

Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Write fast! You're angry, grrr! Make that show, and forget about things like capital letters, punctuation, and verbs.

Na... As long as you have the money to pay for the murder, and don't run when they chase you it's alright. Really the cost is only about 2000 gold, which isnt bad for how much you will make off of the weapons.

I still dont have the game beat though, right now im playing through Tribunal with a level 32 Imperial Battlemage, I even customized him in the beginning...

The ready-made battlemage isn't very good, so altering stats to your own benifit helps a lot, since a lot of premade classes suck for a while.

I dunno. I've been going at it the mass murder, slay-the-living-and-sell-their-stuff-to-the-merchant-next-door for my first romp... going to do it nice and serious later.

I never really started PLAYING the game until I got my guy to level 16. I just ran around robbing EVERYONE blind and killing anyone who didn't agree with the Skooma in my inventory.

I eventually had to restart cause my faction was fucked to all hell.

Shrug, it's a great game, but can get boring fast if you stay from the main quest line.

It got boring fast and I tried to do the main quest line.

Play it as a roleplaying game, not a powergame. It's a lot more fun in the long run and you end up tkaing longer anyway, which is always a bonus

Yeah... Killing everything just because you can, and stealing everything just because you can gets really old.

The game loses most of the purpose then

I wish backstabs did more damage, or had a chance to insta kill or something... Because it's obnoxious to sneak into a house to a mark, and have everyone in the city on you because that first person you had to hit didn't die right away.

Dad's going to kill you. Really. He is.

Most of the time, sneaking and hitting 'em in the back did "Critical damage!" and felled 'em right fast.. er.. for me, anyway.

Edit: This isn't a test.

Leopold, Your sigpic looks very naughty.

ANyways, Morrowind is very sweet, im spending time building my own house, and maybe tweaking things a little more. I love being a thief and stealing the pillows though i agree, it does get boring after a while.
