Can that support an Ultra ATA 133 hard drive or no?
If this is true, then why do we fear it?

Ryouki Sensei spewed forth this undeniable truth:
I think so, it should anyway.
You'll never see it reach even ATA100 speeds in everyday operation.

Mortious had this to say about Knight Rider:
ATA133 is a myth, made up by Maxtor to sell more drives. You'll never see it reach even ATA100 speeds in everyday operation.
This isn't everyday operation.
It's legal to record shows off of television, right? Well, we're doing that. Only we're recording shows onto PC then dropping them onto DVD's.
Problem is the data rate on the HDD we have now is too low to perform effectively; we need a faster HDD to sustain a better data rate, which is why we need ATA 133.

Or go with SATA. [ 06-30-2003: Message edited by: Random Insanity Generator ]
I do similar on my mac and have had no trouble using a FW vidio capture. What type of drives do you currently use? I have two WD 120 Gig with 8Meg Cache running at 7200RPMs.
ATA133 use on a standard IDE controller is a downright lie, and absolutely pointless.

You'll never see ATA133 throughput on a standard controller, you need to go with a RAID option.ATA133 use on a standard IDE controller is a downright lie, and absolutely pointless.
yupers. Sustained throughput rates aren't enough to swamp the ATA66 bus, and even with cache spikes, you're fine with ATA100. You'll never need the extra 33MB/S of throughput, because there isn't an ATA drive on the planet capable of putting out that much info. Even the current kings, the WD raptor 10K drives still can't hit 50MB/S sustained speeds.
No, Really. Bite me.
