Why? Fuckloads of money. Gotta respect that.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

I would have to say the unholy, and uber cool SPAWN. Man that cape is badass.
Shadow is nothing but a distortion of light in which an object blocks its path.

If this is true, then why do we fear it?

Wolverine. Not to sound corny, but he's the reason I stopped acting like a rug to the bullies and fought back.

Superman has always been my favorite superhero. Not because he was strong, or powerful, or near invulnerable. No, Superman, quite easily, is one of the best role models a person can have. He represents a person who is the embodiment of what our society lacks, that being morality.

Not only this, superman is a hero of the many, a just saviour and is a model citizen, taking his part in assisting the justice system and punishing those who deserve it while seeking a fair end instead of a ridiculous goal. Superman, is, for a lack of a better term, every man's man. He is politcally active, communally active, and personally active. He's not one to succumb to the apathy of our society, or the greed and immorality.

Even with the new superman comics, in which superman was bron in the Ukraine to fight for the stalinist dream, he has pillars to his ethics, and superman still "always makes time for the children", and keeps his solid sense of morals, even if they are a bit tweaked from how we percieve them.

Ever since I first saw Julie Newmar poured into that suit as a child, it has been Catwoman. Why? Obvious! Slinky, sexy, loves a good rush, and even tho she's bad, she still has Batman wrapped around her little claw. *smirks*

Batman: Unlike too many suoerheroes, he doesn't operate based on obscene luck and nigh-immortality. He also avoids the limelight whenever possible, which made his heroism seem more honest than other superheroes.

Gambit: Well, Gambit was just cool.

Spider-Man for the same reasons that DS had for choosing Superman.
There's a King on a throne with his eyes torn out.
There's a Blind Man looking for a shadow of doubt.
There's a Rich Man sleeping on a golden bed.
There's a Skeleton choking on a crust of bread.

Superman, for obvious reasons, will always be the biggest pure role model in comics. But for me personally, I have to stick by the man whose logo I wear every week...

Green Lantern. (Kyle Rayner one, not Hal "haha, universe go boom" Jordan.) Because he had as much of a struggle with himself as with his powers: thrust into the role of the last of the universal protectors, told by a nearly-omniscient being that he wasn't worthy of his powers, has his life torn away from him simply because he kept the ring--hell, within a year of his having the mantle thrust on him, he had to help save the entirety of existence.

Yet somehow between all the angst and insanity, he managed to be a good person who did the right thing. That, to me, was what being a hero was about.
