Topic: I am so not a morning person.

This morning I woke up at 8 when my alarm clock went off. I don't think I even woke up, actually, I just hit the button in my sleep.

Then, 15 minutes later, my parents yelled at me. I yelled something back, then closed my eyes. The next thing I know, it's 10 minutes before I have to be at work. And a 20 minute drive.

I hate mornings. I loathe them. I have so much trouble getting up before 11:00, it isn't funny.

I could work evenings but then the problem is that I end up being up until 5 when none of my friends are around. I end up having no free time except during the dead of night.

The only good thing here is that my work is VERY lenient with me. I come in late, they don't mark me tardy, but they do ask that I stay late (IE : Today I came in 5 minutes late, so I'm staying until 5:35 instead of 5:30).

I must say I'm quite the opposite. I always am alert and friendly when I wake up. By the end of the day, I am a miserable wreck.

I'm fine once I can get awake.

It's just the waking up part that gets me. I can't do it. I'm horrible at it. I need to sleep for 10 hours a day, if not more...

But once I do drag myself out of bed, I am alert and fine until late at night. I can stay up until 5 no problems. But the second I hit that bed and fall asleep, I'm out, and it's hell getting back up.

What? I wake up around 7 AM every morning, without an alarm clock. Probably not the norm, though

During the school year though, when I wake up, I'm not a "morning person," but not because I have to get up around, but because I'm going off to school again. Pisses me off every time.

Just 11am?

Yikes. I have a hard time getting up anytime before 8am usually.

After that, the alarm gets me out of bed pretty quickly.

I should probably go to the doctor and get them to diagnose me with insomnia and get it over with. I'm a night person, I stay up late, but it generally gets worse and worse every night. I'll stay up till like 3 one night and then the next night I try to go to bed at 3 again and it doesn't work. Unless I am completely worn out, near-death exhausted, I pretty much end up staying awake later and later every night. At least this summer I have work to keep me from becoming nearly nocturnal.

I used to stay up really late every night by habit, and I only got about 3 hours of sleep per night. Now I try to go to bed around 10 and wake up at 7 or 8.

I have a hard time waking up period. Any amount of sleep kills me. Napping makes me want to die for some reason.

I now have the natural ability to turn off any alarm in my house, while sleeping, then head strait to bed, and in the morning, remember nothing. My parents thought a big old fashion alarm with the bells on top might work, but I learned that they have off switches.

Just put the alarm on a desk across the room and set it on max volume, and you'll wake up every time.

I thought so to, but eventually I just started sleeping walking over to it and turning it off, then falling back in bed.

my sister tried a larger scale version of this on me and turned on her boom box loud enough to annoy me in her room, apparently I went in and ripped out the power plug with out even knowing it

I am the same way, Khyron I need about 9 hours or I can not wake up. Best thing to do is go to spleep earlyer. If you know you need 10 hours count backwards 10 hours from when you need to wake up the next day and get to bed by then. So for you Bed time would be 10pm... First few nights you might have some troubles sleeping but you will adjust in a few days it worked for me. I am now better able to drag my butt out of bed in the morning.

Here's the kicker :

I can't wake up with less than 10 hours of sleep.

Yet if I stay in bed past 10 hours, I get headaches that stick with me all day long.

My options end up being to have headaches or to FORCE myself out of bed miserably.

Sometimes I sleep so deep that you could pick me up and throw me down a hallway, and I'd remember nothing.

So, yes, mornings are a bitch for me.

I used to have this powerman 5000 CD, it has a fairly long intro that had this low bass rumble that always work me up before the music even hit, I miss that cd.

I tried everything to keep me from snoozing/turning the volume down/turning the alarm off for a while. Then I rewired my clock to keep ringing for a few minutes after it started, no matter what. Now I need to buy a battery to keep me form unplugging it. It's like trying to outsmart yourself!
