Just saw it on the Battle.net forums, and half the people were listing early patch versions of Diablo II, without the expansion, and StarCraft without Brood War.

Anyway, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of games EC'ers would come out with.

And now(in no particular order):

StarCraft: Brood War
X-Com 2: Terror from the Deep
Twisted Metal 2
Heroes of Might and Magic IV
Master of Orion 2

"He lets the last Hungarian go, and he goes running. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. 'If you rat on your pop, Keyser Soze will get you.' And nobody really ever believes." - Roger 'Verbal' Kint, The Usual Suspects

Fallout 1&2(listing them as one game because otherwise they'd take up two slots!)
EverQuest
Wolf3D
Return to Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer
Zelda(any of 'em! Except Windwaker. Haven't played that)

You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.

This isn't my definite list, just 5 that my inebriated and highly drug influenced mind can bring up at the moment.

  1. Xenogears. Xenogears. Xenogears. Xenogears. Xenogears. Xenogears. Xenogears.
  2. EverQuest.
  3. All Command and Conquer games.
  4. Half-Life (and all mods that it spawned).
  5. All Delta Force Games.

I'd add the Elder Scroll series of games to that list, but it's too old to edit. The Elder Scroll games kick some serious ass.

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

I can't say I'd know any favorites, but there are certainly a lot of classics on the list like the original X-Com.

The Sim line (not "Sims" but "Sim City") kicks a lot of ass, too.

Although, I do get into RPGs quite a bit, too...

I can't make a list; I've played too many great ones, I think.

Oh, and the original Zelda games were great, too.

    3. Dance Dance Revolution - Well duh! You get to look much cooler freestyling than rocket jumping in Quake 3! ^.^
    4. Thief 1 & 2 - Another pair of immersive games with a compelling storyline (though 2's more than 1's)
