Or anything else? (Besides "Dark Age of Camelot")
That's like asking if someone says "E Q" or "ECK"
"A O" or "OH"
"S B" or "SIB"
D. A. o. C.

The only reason you say "Laser" instead of "ell-ay-ess-ee-arr" is because they shortened it intentionally. The actual meaning of laser is:
light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation
"Laser" is a cool word. A lot better than "Labseor", anyway. Taking out the prepositions is standard.
So instead of saying "Day-ock", maybe you should say "Dack" instead.
I call it "Dark Age", or "Dark Age of Camelot", because, frankly, "Dayock" sounds stupid, and even people who play Dark Age might not know what the hell I'm talking about, where as if I said "Dee-ay-oh-see", or the preferred "Dark Age", they'd get it.
As for "SCUBA", going from thirteen syllables(self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) to two is a great convenience. Going from a clear two syllable "Dark Age" to a potentially confusing "Dayock" which also has two syllables isn't exactly a big timesaver.

Calling it DAyock is just pointless

When you make some thing an acronym, you usally ignore the little words like by or of. Thats Why is the USA not USOA (United Sates of America. I Think if the acronym is four letter and under, you usely do not say it as a word, but by the letter. [ 06-14-2003: Message edited by: Peter ]

Notice how he said that taking out the prepositions is standard. You even quoted that part.
