Meaning, I want to get one of my own.
I'm looking at Sprint stuff, because frankly, I like their phones the most. The phone I'm gonna end up buying is a Sanyo 8100 Vision.
Now here's the thing:
My dad told me to wait getting one unless I can find some sort of family service plan or something, because my family needs new cell phones as well. So, does anyone know anything about Sprint Service plans or any family plans? Anyone work in the cell phone industry? And lastly, is there anything I need to know when looking for service?
Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it's just the opposite. - John Kenneth Galbraith
And Sprint is only good if you don't travel much outside a major metropolitan area. Don't know how much you travel, but it's a factor for me, so I mention it.

So he pays double what it would cost otherwise, just because of that.
But I'm going to be switching to a Motorola V60i phone, nice little phone it seems.
We have a pretty good plan, for like 160 bucks total a month we get a couple thousand anytime minutes, and unlimited night / weekend minutes. We also have...5 or 6 phones on the plan? (thats why the cost is so high)
But...um...yeah.

I recently just got this phone, its size makes it fun!
I like it and it seems the attena, though small, really does affect your call signal even for those areas where you might think you're not covered.
The two things I love about it are its battery life and its voice activation phone book. (Don't neglect Video Poker!)
"...and sometimes, you can still hear him wandering the woods and talking to himself!"
<guy steps out of the bushes>
"Can you hear me now?"
<little girls scream!>
"Gooooood!"

Yeah, I love the voice activation
The antenna works good you say? I'm gonna be moving down to Pembroke it looks like and using my cell as my primary phone -- my current Cell likes to get anal, which is why I'm switching. Any other feedback on this one?
Though I've found the factory belt clip isn't very 'snapping.' Its fallen off off it many many times. But so far thats my only complaint.

Though I'm pretty sure I could find an aftermarket one anyway, thats what I use for my current phone.
But yeah, I'm gonna go get it tomorrow most likely. How is the voice recognition on it?

Voice recognition is useless to me. I just press the phone book key and you can just press the number key relating to the first letter in their name. Like you press 3 and it goes to D, press 3 again and it goes to the E's, press 3 one more time and you get F's.
I'm just not a fan of it.
Definatley the way to go if you ask me. Plus my i95cl and its Java apps, voice recorder, color screen, and many other features is a really cool phone. And now that we have nation-wide Direct Connect I can use my phone like a walkie-talkie with any other Nextel in the entire country. As useless a feature as it may seem at first, I find myself using it every day... Plus I always have 100% reception. I have been in a group of people where some had Sprint, some had AT&T, and some had Verizon, and I had the best signal out of any of them. The only time I ever lost service was in the boonies where there's no civilization for 50 miles around, on a camping trip.
