Secondly, form of the dragon has several REALLY nice uses...

Thirdly, the card more or less ensures you win in 4 turns. If you sit on damage prevention or life gaining (Like those annoying cleric decks) you can keep yourself alive easily. Especially considering most creatures can't actually attack you. It isn't a bad card, not spectacular, but it has possibilities. Those cleric/lifegain decks now have a NICE win condition
Also could work wonders in a green/red deck, wellwishers to ensure you don't die in one shot, elves to churn out mana for quick dragon form, moment's peace for flier cover if needed etc. [ 05-23-2003: Message edited by: Vorago ]

Let's say my Benalish Knight (it's a good card, damn it!) gets blocked by, oh, I don't know, a KROSAN CLOUDSCRAPER. If I sac'd a Benevolent Bodyguad to give the Ben. Knight protection from green after blockers are declared but before damage is dealt... what would happen?
Similarly, when I was first playing, creatures with protection from [source] could neither block nor be blocked by creatures of the appropriate type or color, but I've been told it works differently. Has the rule changed such that a White Knight could block a Druge Skeleton or whatever and take zero damage?

Protection does 3 things...
-Cannot be targeted by spells of that colour
-All damage dealt to it by sources of that colour are reduced to 0
-Cannot be blocked by creatures of that colour
So yes, you can block a black creature with a white knight and take no damage. You always have been able to.
And if you give a creature protection after blockers have been declared, the creature is still blocked. So if your benalish knight (Good card? hah) is blocked by a krosan cloudscraper, and you give it protection from green, your knight is blocked, deals 2 damage to the cloudscraper, and takes no damage.
[EDIT] I don't know who the hell was explaining the rules to me back then. Up until recently, I was under the impression that protected creatures also took damage when something like Evincar's Justice or Inferno was cast.
