Hmmmmm...hard question.
I'd have to say Dragon Warrior.
Lyinar Ka`Bael, Piney Fresh Druidess - Luclin
It's not something people hear about.
Gothic.
Poor Enix, having to work with 2nd rate hacks now.

I didn't think the Star Ocean series was anything special, and that was supposedly one of their finest works.
Baldurs Gate. [ 05-14-2003: Message edited by: Trent ]

I loved the star ocean series. No idea why everyone hated it =((

because not many people here have played it. don't worry though, i've played it more than enough times to make up for everyone else.
Thief and Thief 2:The Steel Age
I never got far in Daggerfall, but I loved it, and Morrowind has dragged me in recently.
Baldurs Gate rates fourth in my list. Not a bad game but it had something I hated about leveling characters in AD&D, lots of wandering around in places already explored hoping to get some much needed experience in order to beat that nasty bad highthing hidden away who wants to eat your brain...
And Baldur's Gate.
.Hack series is pretty decent so far
