Transfers don't come with items, so the effect they'd have on the economy a mature server is so low as to be unmeasurable.
"No transfers ever" is a stupid idea, but "no transfers for a year" is reasonable... after a year the server will be just like every other server already anyway.
What this server won't have (at least not at first) is a bunch of powerlevelled twinks. I think it could be a LOT of fun - I just don't have the time for it right now. I'm still enjoying my 64 druid and my 25 enchanter on Xev. I'd rather not take the time away from them to level a third character right now.

nope.
Leveling my OGRE MONK aka Beastlord is bad enough as is. and i got him from 1-42 in about 4 days played. but leveling up a character that has to group like a War/Pal/Ranger/SK/Cleric/Monk would totally blow ass. the only saving grace to being a beastlord is that you can solo non-stop and get massive XP.
OT has now gone LB though so i'm gonna have to move to DL where shit just kicks the crap outta me.

Then, the next time a Guide or GM sees that origional character running around online, they'll strip its name off because it now violates the naiming policy.

The naming policy is way too fucking unenforced as it is.
Besides, server names get put into the name filter, so they'd have to have the names before the server has been added to the filter.
