Talk about knee-jerk.....
Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

I think it's rather humorous that for the one comic they brought down, 10 mirrors sprang up in its place.

Wouldn't the comic be immune to copyright protection since it's a parody?
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

Yes, I am a lawyer. No you can't sue them for that. Shut up, or I'll have your legs broken.

I don't do this kind of law, but I believe this would qualify as parody/satire/fair use....

There's apparently a clause in Fair Use that says you can't use copyrighted characters while parodying something else (in this case, American McGee's Alice). I don't know if this violates it (I'm kind of torn over whether it does or not) but it still seems fairly nonsensical.

even if they are in the right, would it really be worth it for them to fight a multimillion dollar company just to keep one comic up?

I say somebody hacks AM's website and pastes the comic onto the frontpage.

One comic or all of them, they had to draw a line. What this is, is corporate bullshit. It must be exposed, and fought, and won, no matter the cost. Don't stop fighting when something goes wrong. If we just let corporations do things like this, the next thing we know they won't hesitate to shove our rights in the closet. Such as the upcoming Patriot act 2, which fucks with Habeas corpus. Habeas Corpus is an important law, and to ditch it for "national security" is practically the opposite of the american dream...

Than again, rome was a republic before a dictatorship, too. These things happen, I guess.
