Is very pretty, but for some reason I tend to miss a lot more than I do with Stepmania

Dance with Intensity.

It's one of those DDR emulators for the PC.

I think that Ni-Na and Tier should probably respond to this

I can triple A most songs with DWI with the same timing I use with Konamix (more or less, granted)... What else do you want me to say? o.O

Well, I'm sorta curious. DWI and Stepmania should have the same timing, right? Yet Tier was bitching about Stepmania's timing. When I try DWI, I miss a lot, and Stepmania doesn't have that problem.

Is Stepmania better than DWI, or vice versa? What's different between the two? Which should be used and why?

Have you tried Stepmania, BTW?

I tried Stepmania, back in version 2. It doesn't even use the same stepfile format now, I wouldn't be surprised it changed in the meantime. But yeah, the timing should be the same... I don't know what's up. O.o

As for which is better, probably personal preference, really. I prefer DWI due to its simple, no frills interface.

I use Stepmania, and it works with BPS (I think that's the right extension) and DWIs.

But DWIs made for Beatmania constantly mess up with DWI, for which the format was actually written. You'd think it was the other way, ne?

OK, It's the Judgeing difference between the two. I have found the one on stepmania is actually more accurate as compared to DWI. I actually prefer Stepmania over DWI for this reason. Makes me work a bit harder to get AA's. Plus there are ways to change the judging difficulty on each, change it to see what happens. I have mine set to a level 5 judge as compared to a level 4 (Default).

Difficulty is the rate at which you win/lose your groove meter.

It's actually for both. Look at the source code.

Ni-Na : If you'd like, I have Stepmania on my FTP, you could give the new version of it a try.

If you're new here, let me explain something. I run an FTP site with, hell, everything on it The FTP address is 205.208.222.10, the username is 'evercrest' and the password is 'fluffy'. You can download whatever you wish to

Actually, DWI stands for Driving While Intoxicated. DUI stands for Driving Under the Influence.

There's no Driving While Influenced.

Haha! Ive always used DWI, mostly because I dont have Directx 9 for the new sm, although Ive always been curious about its step editor. Have you checked out bemanisims? Theyve got 8th mix stuff, but all the rest pretty much sucks. I recommend Daikenkai, Senorita speed mix, and the Drop the Bomb remix.
