*smiles at everyone* Oh has anyone ever had your ears close up while mid-flight and then piercing pain start in your ears? If so, what did you do about it? (no I hadnt seen a doctor as of yet.. im waiting it out a few days to see if itll clear up on its own and so far each day brings me closer to recovery.

Not really... but when I was at Space Camp (Which was HELLA fun), I did learn how to prevent it.
When you're going up, the pressure on the outside drops. Swallowing and yawning will help equalise it.
When you're going down, the pressure on the outside increases. To help, you need to plug your nose, close your mouth, and GENTLY try to blow air out your nose until you hear a pop. Don't try to blow TOO hard or you can puncture your ear drums.
It works, too

Just don't blow too hard, and it works great 
I live on the mountain; stuff like that is stuff I know really well.
Going down, the blowing trick works, and so does cupping your hands over your ears and plunging them once or twice.

On the way up, your the pressure will equalize by itself (though swallowing speeds the process). Because of the way the valves in your ears work, it has to be done manually on the way down.
Chewing gum can help, too.

's and Cookies!Sage, I tried the chewing gum thing on the way down (when I started feeling the pressure build up as my hearing started going) as well as tryin to yawn to do the 'pop' thing.. swallowing.. etc. and none of it worked. =( It was horribly painful. Im wondering if I still had some sinus problems with whatever sickness I have and thats what caused it. To the point where the usual stuff didnt work. I even tried holding my nose and blowing gently to pop em and even that didnt work.. tho I didnt try it for long.. most of the time I ended up just holding my ears and tryin to massage two points in front and in back to ease the pain. I had never felt anything so horrid before. =/

If you have a snius infection/ear infection going up and down on an air plane hurt like a bitch. Should pay a trip to a doc. to check out the ear. Sounds like it was n ear block, something clogging up those tubey things connecting the snius and the inner ears, the air couldn't equlize.
And is it Not great you come back, a Week Before easter in the spring to SNOW!!WTF?
Think about it this way.. I am moving to the desert =) I wont see this much snow in a long time. =D *loves snow*
