They exist, but in such drastically reduced numbers that finding girls who like games -and- are available, is nigh impossible.

Too many of us guy gamers... too few girl gamers.

Yanno, you think bisexuality would have caught on much quicker in the male gamer community with statistics like that...

I've found one myself.

Well, My girlfriend (actually) enjoys sitting with me while I play Games.

I created a character for her on EQ (Sapphiresky, Barbarian Shaman, Luclin Server) for me to play around with. Her charm has already worked it's magic too...2 guys came up and gave me some equipment (Ulthork hide sleeves, helm, boots, velium spear, some earring with mana conservation I, and some ruined gnoll chain)

No shit, Sherlock.
Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Well, within my group of friends, all are full-blown gamers except for three guys(they're quite computer eliterate, actually) and the three girls we hangout with everyday. So all us nerds usually reserve our nerd-talk for our nerd-caves. The three girls, although better at using computers than the three non-gaming guys, just aren't interested in video games, or D&D, so we just leave that alone when hanging out, there are more than enough other things we have in common to get along quite well.

Anyway, that's my post for awhile.

There's a surprising ratio of male to female gamers in my gaming group... it's probably 65/35... although most of the campaigns I play in it's 50/50.

Silly Khyron.. you must convert them.

Take Synny for example, she came out to NJ only toying around with online muds and a copy of FF7 that ran poorly on her machine

Now it's Darkstone, EQ (lv 58 druid) Daoc, AC2, Diablo2, Sims, AO, numerous tabletop RPG's...

graphically? beautiful. Unfortunately too simplistic at the time. Interesting concept though, the release new "chapters" of the overall story every couple months.. new zones, dungeons, content, monsters etc etc
Depending on what quests players are involved in governs what sort of changes happen in the future "chapters"

D2 style skill progression, 3 skill trees (ranged, melee, magic) per race/class and each tree has 2 "advanced" classes attached.
experience points can be used at anytime to buy new skills or increase existing ones.

Tradeskill system is pretty interesting too
Items are created by combining 2 or more existing items in a forge. See, every item has 2 material values of varying degree. A sword for example:

iron 17, wood 15

Say you have a recipe for a shield that requires both iron and wood of 17. You would need to get two items, doesnt matter what they are, that have material values that meet or exceed the requirements. The sword above would fill the iron requirement, but not the wood. There's also exotic variations of base materials for more advanced items.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned, it was too simplistic a few months ago. Ranged and magic combat were drastically overpowered. Very, and I mean VERY little initial content.
(part of the story, I know, but still.. it got boring over time) I'm sure theres been alot more added and tweaked, I just havent givin it another shot yet.

Surprisingly, lots of girls like to play video games. Just talking a bit will tell you that.

The ones whose spare time revolves around them are what's rare. A good thing if you ask me, video games all the time get boring.

an edit to my last post. You can combine the items anywhere, even out in the field. Doing it near a forge just increases your chance of success. You can also fuel the forges as well. The more fuel, the higher bonus.

I think more drastic measures must be taken.

For me, it took about 10-15 minutes of yelling into a phone to convince one to try it (Yell for about a minute, then hand off the phone to someone else for them to try.). She ended up enjoying it a lot, but it took quite a bit of convincing for that first step.

Or, I could have just gotten lucky with who I'm choosing to ask.

My gaming group is 8 guys, 4 gals. The 2:1 ratio isn't bad actually. Of us gals, only one dates a guy from the gaming group, two date gamer guys from outside it, and I just don't bother to date. Girls are too much trouble to be worth dating, guys too hung up on sex.

I don't mind un-gamer girls... the true menace is ANTI-gamer girls. One of the guys in our group has a GF that goes out of her way to call him during games, take him out of the room for hours during combats, etc
