Not really, otherwise it'd be an uninteresting block of text. At least only the important words are in bold, and not just random ones.

It's just very distracting. I feel my eyes being drawn to the bold words rather then the ones between them.

Could just be personal preference

Agreed. A few less bold to maybe make no more than 8-12 things stand out might be less distracting.

Other than that it's a very nice site and I also would attend if I was closer.
