Their van they just got was impounded, and he was arrested. Possession of marijuana and cocaine. There's a good chance he's going to prison.
Definitely not the way I figured she'd finally get rid of him, but I can't say I'm complaining, either.

You can't prove that =P
I don't mind, really. I just find it intensely amusing.

This is his second marijuana charge. And he's been ticketed about three times now for a suspended license, including this time. Plus the possession of cocaine.
It's horrible to have to wish your sister's boyfriend in jail, but we really want to get him away from her. And we want to know how long he'll get put in there if he is.

I should find a picture of her.

Lyinar Ka`Bael had this to say about John Romero:
Does anyone know how long a sentence usually is?This is his second marijuana charge. And he's been ticketed about three times now for a suspended license, including this time. Plus the possession of cocaine.

I think it's alright to wish someone that would do a family member harm to be in jail. reguardless of her relationship with him.

it varies by state...In NC, for instance (Leonard the dispatcher and I talked about this at one point when he was processing the paperwork on some drug arrests one night) it'd go down like this...
1. The second Marijuana charge goes down; it has it's own punishment scale depending on a given amount. If it's too little to make a "possession with intent to sell" charge stick, then they just charge with possession. If it's possession with intent to sell, his ass is already (ha) grass. Once you resolve this, move to item 2.
2. The Cocaine charge goes down; possession of cocaine is a slightly higher-punishment crime to begin with. If it's enough to stick a "possession with intent to sell" charge, then he's in deep shit (really deep shit, since cocaine is a higher tier drug than marijuana). If it's not, then it goes down as possession of a narcotic.
3. Check his previous record. Does he have previous possession charges? If so, then these are his second and third strikes, and you move up a degree in the punishment bracket. If either case is a "possession with intent to sell" situation, then you can end up with a pretty severe punishment.
4. Figure in the misdemeanor "Driving without a license" stuff. Has he done it before? How many times. Three strikes rule applies...if it's the third time, he's in trouble.
5. Figure in the "Driving while intoxicated" stuff. If he's been caught doing this multiple times, there's a serious problem.
So it's something of a sliding scale depending on how bad he fucked up. if he was just possessing a little weed and cocaine, then it could be as little as a few months. If he's carrying enough to qualify as "intent to sell" then he's in serious trouble. Could be gone a few years.
But like I said in IRC...much as Jenny seems to like having Ron around (she must; she keeps letting the dingaling back in her life), I'd be there appealing to the judge on behalf of the prosecution, pointing out how much of a destructive influence Ron is on the two kids, and asking him to err or the side of a more severe punishment.

That kid doesn't have 2 pennies to rub together right now. I'm treating her to a matinee movie tomorrow because she's not doing so well financially, or emotionally, and it'll be good for her.

Some states simple possesion (ANY possesion, even a roach) is a felony (such as Nevada).
Even then it all depends on the judge the DA and his defender and any agreements they may or may not work out.
Wayyyyy to many variables but given the rap sheet I would guess he stands a very good chance to go to jail for anywhere from 1-5 years out in few months to 1-2 years with perfect behavior =/
All of the above is IF it wasn't intent to sell. Intent would jump it up ALOT if they can make it stick (at least 5-10 even in the lax lawed states, out in 4-6 if he behaves).
Just my guess from my law enforcement training in Nevada (prison guard for a short while). I can tell you for sure that with that record he would get 10 years minimum in Nevada. It was insane how much more severe Nevada is than California. In California possesion of less than an ounce is a CITATION! Not even a misdemeanor! Cross the border to Nevada and ANY possesion = a felony. Many of the guards were ex-sherrifs and they would bust people all the time from Cali with joints in the ash trays and one guy with the joint still burning!
Well, I'm sure I made the subject clear as mud so I will go now =)
And we're in Indiana.
