Ford Prefect had this to say about Reading Rainbow:
Abbigail was possibly planning to run a game, but I don't know which system she decided to use.
At this stage it's looking most likely that I'll be running either Call of Cthulhu (set in modern times), or Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0.
However, I'm not exactly ignoring calls to run a DnD campaign. If I was going to do it, it would be an "Oriental Adventures" style (with ninja, samurai, etc). At the moment, the only source book I have for that is 1st Ed AD&D style, but I think with the help of my roomie, and my brother and his DnD crew, I might be able to work into into 3Ed rules.. (unless there already is a 3Ed rulebook for it??)
I'll be doing another thread about all of this within the coming week (I hope).

Thanks to Kirara, who is D'loading to me a .PDF copy of the 3Ed Oriental Adventures rules as I write this...
Welcome!
Farscape = funky Sci-Fi show ported into d20. Actually it's more like fantasy with space elements. There's almost never any technobabble, and never giant sustained strings of words a la Star Trekupo. The aliens are actually non-human, and...it's a pretty unique setting, hard to describe, but VERY alien. Go look on my thread and see if someone posts a more coherent description XD

An oriental adventures campaign would kick arse. Can I play a ninja/psychic warrior? I would thouroughly appreciate it if you kept me posted.
1. In 3e, Ninjas are Prestige Classes. IE you start as something else first.
2. 3e OA discourages using psionics in OA, but whatever floats the GM's boat.
3. GM's are wary of players who bound in saying "Hey can I play a XYZ?" where XYZ is their favorite pet character concept, because it usually leads to powergaming.

Do I detect the faint stench of munchkin power-gamer??
... I think I do....

Yeah, Id probably start out as a rogue, then dual to a psion, the prestige to a soulknife and ninja spy, and maybe ninja of the crescent moon, depending on whether the gm uses xp penalties for multiclassing.
Or, there's this little thing called roleplaying. D&D is not usually pen-and-paper Diablo, contrary to what some Santa Claus DMs may think.

You'll probaby want a GM that does mostly dungeons crawls, then. I doubt the RP-centric GMs of the boards would allow that without extensive history explaining every little bit of change, and maybe not even then.
