For those of you that read comics or have read comics in the past...

Who would you say is your favorite non-mainstream/underappreciated comic book character?

Mine is Blink. And not because she's female. I liked her in the books even when she was drawn gangly with a freaky 80's haircut. I like the idea of her powers and the way she presents them. I enjoy her personality and I've approved of everything that's happened to 'evolve' the character.

The last time I remember even seeing Blink was in the Age of Apocalypse series... not sure what's up with her in the standard time-line, though.

Anyway... anyone else have a fave?

(Space-) Jamiri!

Because no other (I repeat: NO OTHER) comic manages to get me rolling on the floor because I'm laughing so hard.

I know. =p

Well, umm, Jamiri is the alter ego of the artist who drawing the coming.
It has no real storyline, it just shows outtakes of his life.
Well, he meets god quite regularily, flies through a black hole, his cat is a russian killer cyborg in disguise, sometimes his life is a broken holodeck... it's just plain hilarious.
Hard to explain, but it's exactly my kind of humor.

Well, he's my hero.
Sort of.

Blink died in regular time line - Very early, in fact.

They brought her back in Age of Apocolypse because of fans wanting her back - which is also why she has a couple of alternate univrse "What if Blink had lived" comics.

According to this, she actually died the second comic she was in. =/

Blink info

..... She's my favorite, too, of the X-men.

However, my true favorite comic book charactor....

They are all one and the same - Deliruim, from the endless. she used to be Delight, but... something happened.

Delirium is the youngest of the endless.
She smells of sweat, sour wines, late nights, old leather.
Her realm is close, and can be visited; however, human minds were not made to comprehend her domain, and those few who have made the journey have been incapable of reporting back more than the tiniest fragments.
The poet Coleridge claimed to have known her intimately, but the man was an inveterate liar, and in this, as in so much, we must doubt his word.
Her appearance is the most variable of all the Endless, who, at best, are ideas cloaked in the semblance of flesh. Her shadow's shape and outline has no relationship to that of any body she wears, and it is tangible, like old velvet.
Some say the tragedy of Delirium is her knowledge that, despite being older than suns, older than gods, she is forever the youngest of the Endless, who do not measure time as we measure time, or see the worlds through mortal eyes.
Others deny this, and say that Delirium has no tragedy, but here they speak without reflection.
For Delirium was once Delight. And although that was long ago now, even today her eyes are badly matched: one eye is a vivid emerald green, spattered with silver flecks that move; her other eye is vein blue.
Who knows what Delirium sees, through her mismatched eyes?

I'll try to explain it.

In germanyyou have to have your checked for defects every two years. For that you have to go to the TÜV (Technischer Überwachungs Verein = Technical Monitoring umm Orgnization) where some technicians check if it's still in a condition to hit the road. If everything is okay you'll get a sticker for your license plate.

In the strip above Jamiri brings his italian car (a Fiat) to that inspection. Th e technician checking it is laughing his ass of looking at the bad condition of the car (a running gag, the car is almost always broken) and in the end dies from laughing so hard.
His apprentice then asks "Sticker, boss?"

I know, explaining a joke doesn't make it funny. At. All.

But you have to believe me when I say that the combination of great art and (sometimes even philosophical) humor makes Jamiri the best comic book character I know.

Castle Waiting

She used to put out her story in graphic novel form, because that's how her publisher wanted it to be (Bone's publisher). She said /go fuk and went to her old (I believe) and has been doing comic book style.

I enjoy the story alot. It's a great mix of Pagan and Christianity, mixed with old fairy tale charicters. Very well writen and drawn.

i would have to say, in over the 7000 comics i have, the one character that i actuly loved very much but never tought they toke care of her nuff was:

Jubelation lee

as Beshop sayed: "She is the greates X-man Leader EVER!!!"

But writers dont give her credit for 5 cents

(naturaly, im talking when Jim'lee and Christ was making X-man)

i have stoped buying X-man and stuff when Wolverine lost his Andatinum and when zerker and stuff, the story was not greatly wrighted.

im also a big Deadpool fan.

But i also use to anjoy "Gold Digger" from Fred Perry.

For Blink+Morph lovers, there is or was a new series called eXiles out featuring alternate universe versions of several X-Characters, including everyone's favorite teleporter. This site features a review on the first paperback of the series, but doesn't give much more info than that, will say much about the plot. Searched for a while, but wasn't able to find any fansites with worthwhile info about the series, sorry. Alas, in the most current issue, Blink managed to return to her timeline, but since at the end of AoA nukes destroy pretty much all of the world, she's toast anyways.

Edit: Site that has an issue by issue brief synopsis of the plot, found here.

Kobold from the Dakota City comic universe (where Static Shock takes place). He was a bad-arse hero. Bashed a guy through some glass to cut him up, then pinned him to a table with a big glass shard through his hand and proceeded to get a big container of salt from the guys cabinets and interrogate him using the salt in his numerous wounds.

Yeah Blink died in the "Phalanx Covenant" storyline that led to the forming of Generation X. I liked her a lot...what appealed to me was that, surrounded by people like Skin, M, etc, Blink was so shy and gentle and she genuinely conveyed the fear some mutants must go through for being what they are. At least, in the prime world, she went out big...she was using her blink effect to take slices out of this nasty sentient techno-organic guy and got caught up in it herself, as I recall. A true innocent, caught up in things she didn't understand, just wanting understanding, who died a hero because of situation. It's amazing how much of a chord she struck in just two issues. AoA Blink was similar, but different. She provided the "Jubilee" or "Shadowcat" character to the very "Wolverine" like Sabertooth (who she called "Mr Creed" in a very endearing way)

Let's see...my favorite little known comic character. Well, my favorite comic character is the Flash, so I'd have to say it's the so-called "Speed Posse" Flash hangs out with. Some (like Impulse and Jesse Quick) appear in other comics, others are really old-school speedsters (the original Flash, Max Mercury, and the now-deceased Johnny Quick). I suppose I just like the fraternity of speedsters. Sort of like a second family for Wally. And of course Wally's girlfriend Linda is important...The best girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse to a superhero is the one with a lot of personality of their own. Lois Lane had that sort of attraction, and so does Linda Park-West (she insists on using a hyphenated name, and people tease her about it). And she fits Wally really well.

Actually, she didn't. She just went missing, and everyone assumed that she was dead.

During the end of the AoA storyline, only Biship, Illiana (sp?) and Destiny were able to enter the big crystal thingy (sorry, can't remember the name). When asked why nobody else could go, Destiny said that they were the only three that didn't have living counterparts in the "Prime" reality.

She's still there, somewhere. But, with her power, and it being out of control at the end, she could be just about anywhere in the universe.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

That's generally accepted as being a typo. Marvel has said repeatedly that they have no intention of bringing Blink back in the prime storyline. Sadf

Blink was one of my favorites...
But possibly my favorite Marvel was Copycat....

Favorite and most underappreciated I feel though has been virtually the entire cast from the Gen-13 Universe. Caitlin, Roxy, Grunge, Bliss, Copycat (different one), Sublime and all the rest.

Of which, Bliss and Copycat are probably my favorite
