For example, I have been as of late listening to some Oasis or Wallflowers just before bed.
Just curious what others here might listen to.

Listening to a fugue is a very left-brained sort of thing since the essence of it is a theme played against itself at different times, in different keys and occasionally upside-down and backwards. So even though there's no strong emotion associated with it (other than, "how the fook did he do that?") it can engage the mind in ways that other musical styles can't.
So I'd say it's not surprizing at all.

Lostprophets are hardly metal.

Excelent choices. I like the same.

Are we thinking of the same Lost Prophets? [ 02-21-2003: Message edited by: madolin ]
If we are, then i guess that's like saying the Offspring aren't punk. (which they aren't) *laughs and shrugs*

Fake sound of progress Lost Prophets?
Usually theSTART or Human Waste Project, though.
I kid. they're good.
Just about any music that I like will help me to relax and go to sleep. So, as long as I like it, it's good.
Speaking of which, I need to find some replacement CDs of Bagpipe music (gave mine to my mom), and maybe some pipe organ music too.
When I'm at home (in Ottawa) I tend to have Kool FM on (Top 40 Pop mainly) as background noise when I go to bed, and set to come on about 30 minutes before I wake up usually.
When I was in Greenland (and didn't have a radio. for the 2 weeks, I had a CD player and headphones on the bed table next to me every nite. GBS, Moulin Rouge, BNL were the main things I had in there. Ditto for Aladdin Sound track and Anastasia Soundtrack too. And rarely I'll toss in some Big Band Music too if I'm in the mood.
But most of the time it's just noise in the background to help my mind unwind when I go to bed.
