About the Horses in EQ.

How do you get one, and if it costs cash...How much?

You buy it in the Bazaar, and it costs a fuckload starting at some 7500pp for the cheapest and 120-130k for the best.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

What's this thing do?

You walk into bazaar and buy one off a vendor. You will get a XXX YYY birdle, where XXX is the color of the horse and YYY the make of the birdle (defines speed).

Horses range from 8kpp (slightly faster than walking) to 107kpp (a bit slower than a bard). You can only use them outdoors, and they allow you to medidtate w/o sitting down.

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Paladins and shadowknights can get free horses at level 59 after spending 27 AA points, I believe.

Is there any site with a convenient comparison guide to horses, just out of general curiousity? A chart would be grand.

You could go to Lucy and compare the runspeed percentage on various spells, then look up all the 'summon horse' instances from slowest to fastest and assign those to the prices ingame, I know of noone who has done this and put it on the internet though.

Better than the best bought horse, too.

I tell ya, if I had the money for the most expensive horse I'd save it and use it towards getting some Flayed Barbarian Skin Leggings (I saw some in the Bazaar for sale, cheapest pair was 200k).
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

The Holy and Unholy steed are Spirit of Norrath speed.

I.E. faster then bards.

AVATAR snare (Not regular snare) makes you about as fast (Maybe a step or two faster) then regular SoW with the steed.

Needless to say, I fucking want one bad, but I don't wanna put the time into it.

Actually a high level bard with special drums, or some such, is the fastest thing in the game.

And speaking from personal experience, the cheap horse is slower than JBoots.

The biggest reason I'd want a horse for Deth is that he has no self-speed enhancements when Lyinar's not around, and more importantly, while on a horse you apparently have the aggro of someone standing but med as if you were sitting. That's quite handy. Uber horses later? sure. something to look into.
