Remember, this is a discussion of beliefs, and you cannot be faulted for whatever beliefs of lack thereof you hold, so don't be bashful. [ 02-09-2003: Message edited by: Karnaj ]
Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it's just the opposite. - John Kenneth Galbraith
I want to find him someday.
You know, without dying.
Faith is a good thing to have. It doesn't make you a sheep, or blind, or stupid to believe in something you can't acknowledge physically. It makes you enlightened.

Don Parcelan had this to say about Optimus Prime:
Yes.Faith is a good thing to have. It doesn't make you a sheep, or blind, or stupid to believe in something you can't acknowledge physically. It makes you enlightened.
My friend would have a field day with that statement...
I lost faith at about the age of 9. My view is that it causes too much conflict to be good. [ 02-09-2003: Message edited by: The leckie ]
I believe that it is possible for there to be some form of a higher power, but I distrust most people's conceptions of that power.
Also, given that most science shows evidence that could refute this higher power, I still have my doubts.

No, Really. Bite me.

Ragabash had this to say about the Spice Girls:
Yes if you classify God as a being that created the universe. If you mean God in a being that watches over us and produces "miracles" and cares about our lives, no.

deĀ·ism
n.
The belief, based solely on reason, in a God who created the universe and then abandoned it, assuming no control over life, exerting no influence on natural phenomena, and giving no supernatural revelation.
edit: It's much easier to say "I'm a deist" rather than, "Oh, I believe such and such and such and such etc" [ 02-09-2003: Message edited by: Kegwen ]

I believe that their are higher powers, but every religion on earth are flawed on the msot basic level and the true concept of the gods is something uncomprehisble to a human in every way cept possible extremly trippy pothead fantasys, cause as we all know, potheads know everything
Believing in logic and reason is nothing more than a belief in the sanctity, functionality, and dominance of your own mind, and in its ability to understand the world for what it is. I can't believe that, for I've had a stroke and had my mind cracked apart for a year, my memories gone, my IQ, reason, logic all mostly disappeared.
I therefore choose to believe in what time can not change and corrupt, in what decay cannot destroy, and what I cannot truly understand because my brain can't fit all the concepts.
I've met lots of people... and if man is the biggest, baddest thing in this universe, then this is a very sad universe we have here.
