Seems that, going along with the storyline for the Legacy of Ykeska expansion, the Trolls are getting the beat down from the frogs.
The frogs have taken over Grobb (or will shortly), which is now called Gukta. The trolls have all been driven out of the swamp and are now refugees amongst the dark elves of Neriak.
The trolls in game havent moved yet, but new trolls are now starting in Neriak (ya even tho thier guildmasters are in Grobb still, and they lack the faction to interact with Neriak).
Sux be trolls.

And supposedly, thats why they are fleeing to Neriak - already had trolls there, and the inkies are thier allies. The same cant be said for the Orges, who only have an uneasy peace with the Trolls because they more or less had to. And everyone else would rather kill them.
Think it would be cooler if they made it so you cant start newbie trolls anymore, that would be some real cool dynamic content, and give a little uniqueness to the existing trolls (being orphan refugees of a defeated race). At least until the server completed some major battle-quest to either take Grobb back or establish a new city.

Sorry.. according to a few of the stories VI leeked out ... Haflings managed to defeat the dark elves and kick them out of Neriak...
How true this will hold now that we have the big bad strong Trollies, I don't know.
No matter.. should it prove to be true, then this is one darkelf that wont be reappearing in Norrath.

Was confirmed a long time ago... They hinted that the Dark Elves went further underground into some ancient city of theirs or something like that.
I like that, follows what current EQ is doing. Everyone knows the Leatherfoot Raiders are massing in Nektulos because the Dark Elves took the land from them to begin with from what I understand. Only makes sense that they would finally counter-attack. The Dark Elves have been nothing but trouble for Halflings, a war between them was coming.
The only thing I really question about EQ2 race location wise is the fact that the Iksar are on Faydwer now. I'm interested to found out how they are living there now and NOT at war with the Elves.

That's not exactly true. Iksar may take over Mistmoore.
But we know that the Knights of Truth were ousted by The Freeport Militia, so not all evil got its ass kicked.

All trolls camped in Grobb or Innothule were moved to Nek. Thier bind points were changed as well if they were bound in Grobb or 'thule.
(Yes, this means that amazingly, sony made sure to NOT screw over anyone that wasnt on for the war)

I have an unexplained and intense hatred for halflings. For reasons even I cannot fathom, I despise them as a race, I do not trust anyone that plays them, and I will never play one myself. Guildmembers that are halflings I tolerate indifferently at best.
Is it the models? the hairy feet? the god awful carnival music in Rivervale? Maybe it's the d00d level of druid and rogue reputations that I've seen and been burned by in the past. Hell, it could be the Ronald McDonald Hamburgler masks that the halfling guards wear.. I don't know.
What I do know, is that I hate them. And these new "story / background" changes for EQ2 anger me greatly.
There are some that will invariably say "If you don't like them, then don't play the game." That is my intent. I'm merely stating my displeasure.
Synny said to me last night "Just think, this will make killing them that much more enjoyable! Besides, the new city might be cooler." We shall see.
Also note: Female frogloks look almost like male frogs (just a bit thinner), and have no boobs. So those who thought that Verant was going to put boobs on the Frogloks WERE WRONG.

I play a "good character" and the one race I absolutely cannot stand in EQ is halflings. Mainly because of the "i'm a 3l33t d00d" attitude that many seem to have.
In simple terms:
"I hate halflings."
