WC3 questions!

The first time I played the campaign, I decided that a couple of the optional quests were impossible. I've decided to replay those missions to try and complete them.

So far... ass.

In the Human campaign, there's a mission where you have to defend a town for ~20 minutes. 10 minutes? Can't remember. Anyway, you get an optional quest where you can destroy a caravan carrying the plague.

I just can't do it

Also, in the Undead campaign, the sixth mission drops you in the middle of five or six Orc encampments. You only have to destroy two of them (one around your objective, and the other one to get to the one around your objective ), but you have the option of slaying the other 4-5 Orc Heroes that are running around.

While I prepare to crack of the optional camps, I'm constantly under fire by Orc armies which are designed specifically to destroy buildings (Bloodlusted, Unholy Frenzied Raiders?!), and I can only knock off two or three Heroes before I run out of gas.

HAET

And as long as I'm talking about Undead... I've always wondered this about the Lich's Frost Nova ability. The text reads something like, "Does 100 damage to target, plus X Nova damage." Is the Nova damage how much is done to everything else in the AoE, or is it also added to the target's damage (thus, 100 + X = target damage)?

God, I wish I had Vamp Aura for that Orc mission

Once more into the breach, my friends, once more. We'll close the wall with our dead. In peace, nothing so becomes a man as modesty and humility, but when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with rage and lend the eye a terrible aspect.

Okay, for the first human mission (I think its 20 minutes), I found it awkward at first too. But basically just build as many footmen as you possibly can and try and get a few priests as well. Now, there only two side the enemy attacks (the top left and the middle left). Keep a bunch of men at each bit, and then have a relief company waiting in between the two. When the bonus mission comes up, screw it, let everyone else die, your the one trying to live here.

That undead mission I found really annoying, I'm not a fan of playing undead, and the whole Uber Orc's attacking every thirty seconds was really annoying. Basically, I winged it. As many ghouls etc. in the one place to hold back invaders, just keep building and building more of them, then charge and pray to god you get through.

Also, I have no clue about the Forst Nova ability.

My head may be level with your hands. But your groin is level with my teeth!

I killed the caravan in about 10 seconds.... not to mention how easy it was to take out all those different orc heroes.... Different people have different playing habits, tactics, strategies etc etc...

The nova damage deals damage to the target AND the AOE.
Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Write fast! You're angry, grrr! Make that show, and forget about things like capital letters, punctuation, and verbs.

I just sent a hunter-killer force northward and ran into the caravan. Guess I got lucky!

And I've loved siege units and siege-type play...so, I just put down a bunch of towers and and stomped any force that attacked.

Honestly, the undead mission against the orcs is really easy. Leave your lich to defend the town, and build a few massive barriers of spirit towers. That's all you need to kill anything that attacks.

Then you just send all troops to kill one city at a time while the towers defend your own.

The human mission, eh it isn't too hard. Undead attacks are pretty light, just take a dozen troops under Arthas and intercept it.

Only Arthas came home after doing that optional quest. All my other units died

The Human one you mentioned.. just run up, and ambush it.

The Orc one.. half the orc camps can be taken out with gargs without too much resistance.. you have to make them target the raiders first, but after that.. a dozen or so gargs can wipe out the towns in no time.

Then you gotta bum rush (Yeah, Zerg ahoy), a couple of the other camps. And the last one, is the toughest.. so if you can beat it to take the short route.. you can handle the whole map.

Oh, after you kill the camp directly south of your initial camp.. move there.. its easier to defend.
