I did find EQ/DAoC to be the hardest to get working with it (or really any full screen games) just because when it pops up "Allow this to access the internet" it will Fup your system.
It's a full featured firewall, an ad-blocker, a DNS caching program, and it's expandable by a plugin system.
Best of all, it's freeware.

I find that AOL IM does not like me sending images and stuff (connecting directly) with the XP firewall, and I hate turning it off just to do a direct connect. Zone Alarm does not have this problem, so I can just leave XP's off.
Or is there a way around XP firewall and IM direct connect?

None that I've found. I just leave the damned fire wall off. It gets to be a pain more times then it's worth. If someone really wants to hack my computer, the can. Not like there's really anything good on it. Besides, I think a hacker might be more interested in a computer that's protected then one that's not, more of a challenge to get into it.

Well, i run my firewall so that i can catch any software on my pc trying to make an outgoing connection. Some site tries installing spyware? My firewall will ask me for permission to let the spyware make an outgoing connection, andthen i can exorcize the fucker.
As for a hacker preferring a guarded PC, most "hackers" are little more than script kiddies that ping/port scan a batch of IP's and look for an easy machine, a "real hacker" isn't going to go after a home PC, he'll go after a pusiness server/mainframe, something with actual value and useful data. Someone with the skill to penetrate a good firewall isn't going to care about what YOU have behind it.
And lastly, a lot of firewalls operate in what's called "stealth" mode, meaning that they shield part or all of your pc from being visible to an outside source, so a script kiddy won't even know you exist.
