Well, we've had all sorts of music posts over the time i've been here, but i don't recall one that goes like this:

"Post your SINGLE favourite song, and post why you like it. Posting more tha one song is strongly discouraged, as this allows for copouts. So ONLY ONE song, and why it is your favourite."

My current favourite:
Toad the Wet Sprocket - Throw it all away.

I love it because it's all about getting rid of that which frets you in life. Taking all your worries, and throwing them away, leaving you with nothing but joy in your life.

Bite me.

No, Really. Bite me.

You have just rocketed up in my esteem

I love Toad the Wet Sprocket

I can't say I have a single favorite song. I have many favorites, for many different reasons. A lot of the ones I like are "theme songs" for RP characters.

Well, they're tied for my favourite band of all time, tied with Great Big Sea. My ex introduced me to TTWS, because hearing them got her in "the mood" so every mixed CD i ever made after that included at least one Toad song. I came to love the band, and still listen to them.

Back on topic, well, there must be one song that you like more than all the others, make a list of all the candidates, and then keep crossing off the least deserving candidate until yo've only got ne left, then post that one.

Bite me.

No, Really. Bite me.

I like Toad the Wet Sprocket because it sounds dirty.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

Toad the Wet Sprocket and Matchbox Twenty are my favorites.

I can give you my favorite TTWS song

Is It For Me

I like the beat, and I like the little story it tells. All their songs are great, but I find myself listening to that one over and over sometimes.

I can't say I have a true favorite at all...

But I can say that my favorite classical music piece is Arcanum's main theme, performed by a string quartet.

Man its purty.

I fluctuate.

My current favorite is "I'm Still Here" sung by John Rzeznik from GooGoo Dolls. Its the John Hawkins' theme from Treasure Planet.

That version of Cruel Angel rules. But I'd have to say my current fave is "I know" by Jude, cuz it's "our song" between me and my girlfriend.

Rage Against the Macine's cover of The Ghost of Tom Joad. From great beginnings (Woody Guthrie's Tom Joad), Bruce Springsteen made a soulful ballad about the plight of the downtrodden. Add to that the lyrical mastery and musical talent of RAtM, and you've got, well, the best song EVAR.

Fake Wings Bitter Sweet version from the .hack//sign extra cd. It has a wonderful, though haunting sound to it.
Silently, the unnamed Senshi drew a small jewel-hilted athame from some form of pocket-space, and lightly ran it across the back of her left hand. Good, she wasn't one of those fools that slashed their palm open whenever one of the various reasons to use blood arose. I did the same with my own vorpal-bladed athame. It was a much plainer affair than my counterpart's, but I bet hers couldn't call up a higher-level demon just by carving a smiley face in the ground.

"Gates of Delirium" by Yes

Why? Because its one of the few songs I've ever heard that if you listen to the version without any vocals first, you still know exactly what the song is supposed to be about.

The last 5 minutes of that song will make me stand motionless to hear them.

Its just that good.
