First, i like to Excuse my Self to Liam, i sayed something Stupid, & toke me 2 hours of thinking of how i stand Politicly in the world.

It toke me to asking my self, where do i realy Stand in the world, what do i REALY think of contreys, people, race, color & Religion.

I know i call my self Canadian all the time, using it as a Reason to be Extra polite & cleaner that most people, But when i think about it, i have meet more people Here not from canada that are more polite & nice that most i have seen where i live.

So how can i saw Canada is beter?

& how can i say the USA is worst?

I like to think that, i dont hate people from "A contrey" or from "A race" or even less "A relegion", when i hate someone, i just dont like THAT person, not because she stand for something i dont agree whit, but because he was probably a *ss.

& then, i touth of a Small fight i hate whit Parce few weeks ago About USA.
i was thinking, he keeps calling him self a American ... you know, i am a American also.

I live on the Continent of America, so do Mexico & the rest of the South. (Canada is up North of America)

So i am a Americen too , not a Citisen of the United States

I dont care much of Politics, i dont undearstand 1/4 of it & i personaly dont care. I care about friends, people i live whit, My life, my wifes life. It's nuff troble just to get life working arond my self & the people i care for for a beter life for me & them.

i see the EC as a famely, & i care for most of them (lot i dont know yet =)

This is what i love of the internet, but same time can be tricky: when you Talk to someone, Because he/she sonds interesthing, do you know if he/she skin color is? what religion he is or what contrey there from?

No, & you talk to someone that you may, probably, would never talk in the thing we call Real life.

Most of my Friends are on the net, yup, some wond say i dotn have a life, but what if i sayed that some people here have been more Loyal here that in Real life?

Odd i may say, but somehow, right.

Lot of been nice to me, some just ignore every badly typed word that come out my mouth, But some takes Great care of me.

(you all know who you people are)

So, at the end, i see that, contrey, limites, people, THey dont mater to me, they realy dont. i Dont find any NEED to BE something Except just me.

I do care & respect my naibord, i wont park my truck in drive way whit out asking him, i dont wana be shot.

well, im done, i know most people wont care much of what say, & probably dont make sence. but still, i wanted to appolagize ....

People are people. Any country will have a mix of good and bad people.

The best thing anyone can do is to be one of the good people.

They say that you can tell alot about a person by the company they keep. The company we keep is EverCrest. There are some good people here. Not everyone's perfect, but we still tend to be good people.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

Ukko,

I understand what you are saying. At least I think I do.

One good thing about the internet is that in most chats rooms, message boards and interactive games the playing field is level. It does not matter who you are in real life. Unless you bring it up and make it matter. But everyone starts out equal.

Wouldn't it be nice if the real world was like that? Well, it does, but only for about 2 min. Then usually religion, race, country come into play and start molding your life for you.

Anyways. I think that is why you find friends on the internet to be more open, more accepting. And taking you for who you are on the internet. And if something does not work out. You can just stop going there and start a new life somewhere else.

Anyways, thanks for your nice post.

Might have. I don't remember you mentioning it, though, just saying "my wife".

They still allow common law up there? They outlawed it here in Indiana a while back, but there are still some states that allow it.

It's kinda dumb to outlaw it, though. I mean, you're with someone that long, you might as well be married.

They undid the concept of Common Law Marriage down here because it was difficult to decide where benefits should begin. What if you and person X have been soulmates for 6 years, but live on opposite coasts? What if you die? What are person X's legal rights? Where does person X's parents' legal right towards inheritance, etc, fit in? Most of the stickier issues can be covered with a well-written will, or handling your own health insurance.

In Canada, I'm not surprised things are different, because there's socialized medicine. Universal health coverage, etc, rather fixes the trickier elements of coverage insurance-wise, and a will can cover contesting a person's right to inheritance.

Oh that's right. I forgot about the socialized medical coverage. That was a big reason for the outlaw in Indiana, as well. They didn't want to pay unless it was a spouse from an actual marriage.

I always thought that common law marriages in the United States were defined as people in a romantic relationship living in the same residence for a number of years, assets and etc shared within that cohabitation, not counting the number of years in the relationship total.

I think if a couple signs into a hotel under the same last name in certain states that constitutes a common law marriage.

At least, that's what I learned on Who's The Boss.

I know it varies from state to state, but I'm sure the couple has to reside together for several years. You say 2 in Canada Ukko? And pay taxes, because the governemnt made it a marriage by default? Sheesh, that is short. Most I've heard in the States its been more like 5 to 7 years. The couple's reltionship also has to be that of a traditional man and wife. Then you factor in the assets, benefits, entitlements, and possibly sacrifices made to the other. IE the sacrifices a spouse might to another for various reasons. To my knowledge the Governemnt just doesn't claim a Common law marriage on its citizens. It usually happens when the couple try to gain benefits for their "spouse" or the couplesplits up, and one files for divorce to gain such benefits as a marriage ending such as alimony. I know each state has a rather strict legal definition that has to be proven for the status to be given.
