Does anyone know the difference between a rebellion and a revolution?

Every now and then when your life gets complicated and the weasels start closing in, the only cure is to load up on heinous chemicals and then drive like a bastard from Hollywood to Las Vegas...with the music at top volume and at least a pint of ether -Hunter S. Thompson

A rebellion is generally quelled, a revolution generally succeeds.

A rebellion can cause a revolution, but a revolution is more than a rebellion. Rebellion is just a faction group with a differing opinion from the norm, but a revolution is what that rebellion can bring about; overthrowing of government, unseating of kings, destruction of universe..
