Why must things cost money
rip little kids off until you're rich...
that's what joel drouillard does...
he's bought 3 boosters total, he has something like 600 cards now.
No, Really. Bite me.

Is there a rule where you can only have a certain amount of cards?
yep. max of 4 of the same card, save for lands.
Why do you people pay for MTG ? Just download apprentice at go to channel #apprentice on Mirc and you get free magic from every set

I believe Lightning Bolts are also Banned/Restricted in tournament play.
Wrong on both accounts

I believe he is referring to T2, and yes they are banned, because any cards not in the current sets are considered banned from tourneyment play.
4 Lightening bolts
3 mana
You go second and draw:
1 mana
That would be a good hand, and you could win pretty quickly and cheaply.
I would rather have a hand of Jackal Pup, Goblin Cadet, Lightning Bolt, Fireblast, Mountain Mountain, Fork and have my first two draws be another mountain, and a ball lightning.
T1! is luv

Because I like the way MTG has it set up better. And it cost me all of 1 computer game's value to build 3 decks, which is more than enough for me.
I much prefer being able to find people to play with in game rather then via chat to find a game
So fal, you pay just to use an in game finder, for Invasion block only, when you can play with any format, for no cost, if you use Mirc to find people?

mtgo is fun. I enjoy it. It works for someone lazy like me.
And Honestly, i could give two shits less about what "block" it is invasion block, thats cool, I'll play it.
Im not the uber uber magic afficianado that you seem to be. MTGO is more accessible for me, therefore i use it.
A) Type2 > Other Formats
B) I KNOW my opponents cannot cheat at the game, no matter how hard they try. The game does everything automatically. I don't have to watch every step my opponents are doing
C) Quite frankly it is fun

No.
This is why we play without the goddamned tournament rules at school.
It's more fun. Not to mention a LOT of us have been playing since before Ice Age and don't want to buy new cards just to be "tournament legal".

Did you ever decide if you're gonna buy all those cards from me or not?

I dunno about Type 2 > Anything, but I like these two...plus the fact that you can play on MTG:kupO any time of day.
It's really not too hard to cobble together a deck, with these people selling 50 commons for 1 ticket (which equates to one dollar) or 12 uncommons for 1. And if you're not a cheapskate you can just buy a precon with it (I recommend the WG judgement one, it is quite spifftacular).

Heck, with just commons you can make decks that actually kick ass
And NOT Green/Blue Madness decks either!
I had fun with my pure common/uncommon deck before Onslaught came out
Wormfang Drake + Gravedigger was my favorite combo Such fun, heh
But yeah, at the rate commons go for 20 dollars you could make a BUNCH of decks, even with some uncommons in there
