I also intend to pick up GT3 and FFX after a while. I want to get some sort of fighting game, and Time Crisis 2 as well.
Advice on the fighting game? Advice on other games? POST NOW!
(I KID!!! Don't hurt me Delphi)
I had GTA3 for the PC before I lost the disks (I R STUPAID!) and haddn't beaten it after a couple straight weeks of playing. I take my time and screw around in games like that. Great fun.
Uh, like, MK: DA is good, along with Tekken 4, if you must.
I dunno.
"Oh yea, since we're at the mall lets go play a brawler. $2 says I'll kick your ass, I am god at these things"
I've never really been to keen on the MK stuff. I mean it's a pretty good game these days, but meh. I never picked up on it really until MK 3 came out. Just never got into that one.
And Delphi the comment of monk ass kicking was applying to you, it was the other dude that posted mocking VC.

Capcom Vs Marvel 2 is most excellent, as far as fighters go. Heavily Playtested, bored military troop approved
Is it 2D? If so sadf and will only be rented.
And his name is "Zraak" not "Delly"
Plus seeing Storm beat the living snot out of the Street Fighter crew is just plain cool.

Funny thing is mine isn't "Delly" either, forgot to change the name.

Advice on other games?
Robotech Battlecry
Theres the Kyrpt that will take months to unlock every single seceret/bonus thing in it. And theres the Konquest which has 218 stages(18 for each char I think?), which widely range in difficulty.
I'm buying DDR with two DDR pads next.
Oh yeah, has anyone heard of .Hack? Seems to be an offline "online" MMPORG. Its from an anime show in Japan, story line following the show very closely. I know I'm gonna pick it up. [ 01-09-2003: Message edited by: Kirane ]
"Don't want to sound like a fanboy, but I am with you. I'll buy it for sure, it's just a matter of for how long I will be playing it..."
- Silvast, Battle.net forums
For buying the things I'm going to go to Babages, simply because I LOVE the store over EB and Gamestop, and I have yet to have a bad experiance of any sort with them, so you know...
I've already got DDR and 2 dance pads. Are they compatable with the PS2 as they were with my PSOne? I sure hope so, would make my ocasional DDR spree easier.

Heh heh Vice City.. not as short as Luigi's Mansion but close.
The difference being, of course, that Luigi's Mansion sucked. A lot.

I dunno, Mara.
I see firstgen games on a system as .. Hmm..
Training.
Yeah, Training.
When the 64 came out, nobody had ever seen a control stick, let alone was good at it. So Mario 64 came out, along with waverace that taught you how to use it with ease.
Same with the PS2 dualshock, same with Xbox (woo woo platformers), same with GCN controllers.
The game itself is lacking, but the idea behind it is not.

So in other words, it sucked. A lot.
And your logic is flawed, Mario 64 was one of the three worthwhile games on the N64 [ 01-09-2003: Message edited by: Maradon XP ]

Sorry, bad wording.
I was implying that Luigi's mansion gameplay was lacking, not the training behind it.
Edit: Also, Mario 64 never sucked, Waverace bluestorm and Luigi's mansion did. [ 01-09-2003: Message edited by: Delphi Aegis ]

I don't quite buy that either.
Games give you plenty of training through in-game tutorials and the instruction booklet. You don't need a whole game to teach you how to use a control stick.

Well NOW you don't. Back when N64 was new, you did.

Yes. Too short, too simple, very unenthusiastic presentation compared to other launch titles.
Waverace bluestorm sucked ass, when compared to the original.
