To give this post a point, DirectX 9 has been released.
Yeah, it was a week and a half ago, but I didn't know until today, so I figure I'm probably not alone.
And what happens when they eventually come out with DirectX twenty? DXXX? Heheh.
The music that plays on the first encounter with Space Pirates and on the main menu = too cool.

Suddar stopped beating up furries long enough to write:
Yeah, they've got a lot of subtle remixes. You hardly even notice until...yeah.The music that plays on the first encounter with Space Pirates and on the main menu = too cool.
I often find myself whistling the theme from the title screen.
I'll have to mutliate it's case horribly with hot pokers, just out of spite, though.

Maradon XP was listening to Cher while typing:
If you guys keep it up I may buy a gamecube for just this one game.I'll have to mutliate it's case horribly with hot pokers, just out of spite, though.
Go out and rent one with MP for a night to check it out.
Personally, I'm thinking about giving my 'Cube a repaint or something. Maybe I can make it look like a miniature cube of Code Red?

Go Dew. Never stray from it.

Doomie said this about your mom:
Is it me, or does the music when you first land on the Tallon Overworld sound like a remixed track from Zelda?
It's a remix of the Brinstar music from the original Metroid.

You'll love my letter then. Bwar haharharhar!
It is the ONLY sound effect from a Game Boy that has ever scared me the first time I heard it.

There was much rejoicing when Maradon XP said this:

It was definitely worth the 200 dollars.

Well, Super Metroid is probably its equal. Better on some fronts and worse on others.
Using the grappling hook is way too much fun.

Oh, I forgot I was talking to Faz.
Yeah, you wouldn't like it. You have to think about what you're doing instead of staring at breasts.
The music was great, loved how they seemed to put in the older sound tracks into it.
I beat the game on normal mode(there isnt a choice until after you have beaten it). Took me awhile to find all the expansions for the missles and power bombs especially the last few. The ending at 100% leaves you wondering if there will be a next one.(I hope there is ). So far this is my favorite GC game.

Suddar wrote this stupid crap:

Just FYI: I found Super Metroid the most boring thing ever. Once you got past the novelty of powerups, it's all about finding that particular wall that can be blasted with that particular powerup to reach another powerup to blast a door... All of it without any storyline whatsoever.
So, yeah, even people like Faz are entitled to an opinion that might (gasp) be different from yours! Because he's probably not the only one.

A few things facilitate this--the hint system and the scan visor. The first will tell you where your next objective/item lies after around 5-10 minutes of completing the last one. You can then immediately go for that objective or you can search around for whatever new paths may have opened up from getting your last major item. You'll come across a lot of items eventually anyway, because they aren't so MADDINGLY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE as they were at some times in Super Metroid. They aren't right in front of you, but they aren't as hard.
The second, the scan visor, will usually tell you what you have to do to get some door open, or to clear away some wall...or at least hint at it. I.e. sandstone walls fall to morph ball bombs, cordite walls to super missles, etc. These things won't jump out at you--unless you give every room a once-over with the scan visor. A lot of the previous Metroid games was just jumping around like a loonie trying to find the unmarked wall that you have to blow up to proceed. That was annoying sometimes, yes. That's pretty much gone now, with the good things about it still there.
So, yeah.
