Puzzle games have something that appeal to a broad audience IMO.

It would involve rally cars, all sorts of guns, jets, stealth, espionage, gears, mechs, sweet weather and lighting effects, samurais, ninjas, swords, hitmen, orcs, snipers, army rangers, good music, nukes, tanks that can disguise as trees, jetpacks, cloaking, skydiving, parachuting, submarines, bombs, plastic explosives, scuba diving, doritos, a three headed monkey, dragons, snipers, prostitutes, car jacking, money laundering, iron chefs, asian women, windex, white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, mp3 file share programs that work like audiogalaxy, chocolate, dance clubs, sky scrapers, snowboarding, cargo pants, etc.
I'm liking the sound of this.
I say make a game that is like Morrowind, but with the whole world acurately detailed to the SMALLEST, TINIEST detail. And you can do whatever, it has living, breathing working people and the most complex AI ever. You're just a guy or a girl, start off in the middle of your city and just...play.
You would be able to do literally anything you could in real life. [ 12-28-2002: Message edited by: OtakuPenguin ]

While I understand what you are getting at with this thread...
the "perfect game" wouldnt be this -- to some people it would be too much like real life. To some it would have TOO much to do.
As I said, no matter what, hypothetically or no, you cant make the perfect game

And yes, you would need a VERY involved AI to provide a full world, and also to accommodate multiplayer, where people would constantly try to override each other.
