They do. It's used to seperate the underage girls (little/no boobs) from the otherwise identical looking 18+ year old girls (big boobs).

The only exception is old ladies.

I mean, sure they're not realistic, and they may not be "sexy," but I dunno about disgusting. The emotion I tend to get from them is "humorous." I find them funny,

And then you look at anime and you have basic designs. You have the NGE/Robotech/whatever model female; largely in-proportion, meant to be a more realistic style of animation. Then you have the hyper-stylized cartoony Fatal Fury/pseudo-hentai images. The first sort aren't any more realistic than the second (big eyes, odd colored hair, all the same general body type...but no one notices because it's style), but the second is meant to be caricature (big boobs on women, freakishly overdeveloped musculature on men). I guarantee you won't ever find a guy in real life as ripped and nimble as anime men, just like you won't realistically find a woman who's as stacked and agile as Mai. But it's fun to watch and the animation style is easy-going.

I mean...I hate to break it to folks, but there aren't bionic limbs, giant mecha, fireball punches, or wizards in real life either. It's fantasy art come to life. People who squawk about the objectification of women and how anime sells the wrong body image are the same people who don't responsibly raise their kids to know different.

I say bring on the Mai's of the anime world. It's harmless fun.

Can we go through life without you ruining at least ONE pleasure with your essays?!
