Possibly, but The Thran was a FAR slower book, it wasn't for the casual MTG reader
You read The Thran if you wanted to know how Yawgmoth came to be
Brother's War on the other hand, can be adapted far easier, and works by itself without any other knowledge of MTG
BTW, the movie may very well suck

I haven't actually read The Thran, because it didn't look like it would do Yawgmoth justice. I've only read the Phyrexian mythology from Myths of Magic.
I thought that was well done, though.
It would also be kind of cool if they did five to seven shorter storylines highlighting each color. But that would be exponentially more difficult, so I really can't see it happening. [ 11-25-2002: Message edited by: MorbId ]

Well, I would also reccommend the other 12 (Yup, 12) books that span the entire Phyrexian saga
And yeah, Oddysey sucked... ditto judgement
Torment was pretty cool, but still wasn't all that amazing
Onslaught had potential, but then they killed off Ixidor, who was turning out to be a really cool character, in that Insane-Urza kind of way
But god damn, they could do 6 books just about Braids and I would be happy

Just, the artwork for her was the one originally made for Diabolic Tutor, but it was so good they decided it deserved it's own card, so they took an old Tempest card that they never included in the set, named it after her, made it a legend... and she became her own deck type
