What did you want to be when you grew up?

And why?

I wanted to be a sailor, or a cartoonist. I suppose, technically, I'll do that too. As I am going to be a sailor in the Navy and will be going to school for art.

A soldier(Age 5), then a computer graphics engineer(that was age 10).

An egyptologist, at least up to age six or seven. Ancient Egypt absultely fascinated me, between their interesting writing, the whole mummification procedure, and the massive pyramids.

I got a hieroglyphics stamp set for Christmas one year and committed all the symbols to memory, and made a sarcophagus out of a refrigerator box. Good times.

Then for a while it was marine biology.

After I read Jurassic Park, I became obsessed with paleontology and the study of insects (name escapes me) for several years.

EDIT: Actually, my first interest was in being a pilot. I still want to do that today, and I think I can acheive pilot's license through Civil Air Patrol.

I wanted to be an astronaut for a long time, but when I realized that'd never happened, I decided on a more likely computer engineer.

I never knew what I wanted to be... my mind changed all the time.

Egyptologist, Pharmacist, Photographer, Model (found out I was too fugly wow, ow thx Barbizon Modeling Agency ya bastards!), Actress, Comedienne, Chef of my own cooking show...

I have varied interests.

When we did that test in High School that was supposed to show you what your skills were, and what job you should do, I had over 150 different results.

It said anything from surgeon to janitor... thx narrowing it down for me!

I took one of those tests too. This one only listed 10 careers, max...

I nearly died laughing when one of them came up as Military Intellegence, and the one right below it was Circus Clown.

A dentist. I thought they were cool into most recently. But I have to take my plan test on the 31st. We will find out what I'm doing in the future then!

Both my parents have MBA's, so of course, I wanted to get one too, just go into a different branch, since they were both in marketing, in fact, that's where they met I want to work in the executive branch of a major business, CEO all the way...but no sleazyness.

I wanted to be an inventor. That plan never came to fruition, as the things I would like to invent would require several PhD's or about 3-4 centuries of scientific advancement (and watch us get there in fifty :\, thus proving that I wouldn't have succeeded as an inventor).

I wanted to work on the F-16 since I was 4 back when I first saw them fly. I joined the Air Force and that's the job I got and I loved every minute of it.

Archaeologist/Egyptologist, right up until my final year where I learnt the horrible truth that 90% of Archaeologists don't get jobs in their field...

I wanted to be a fire truck like Optimus Prime. Then I realized that wasn't posible so I commited to something more doable : make an AI program that will take over all computers and humans and give me control over the Earth so I can distribute Bologna to every third world country and play DnD all day, I think I'm half way there.

Chemical Engineer, for a while, wanted to invent the next clean-burning, ultra-powerful and thus very slowly consumed gasoline

Then it was doctor for a while there, and now it's Computer Technician. The thing I love most is fixing, making, and playing with Computers I just hate dealing with their users

I went from wanting to be an artist to a musician, photographer, radio DJ, interpreter, technician, and probably several other pointless and dumb careers.

Now i've decided that if I grow up I want to be a photographer.
