Just changed mine to that and I think I'll keep it that way. Max rez too
My laptop runs at a weird resolution because it's an LCD Display... 1400x1050x32
I'm going to ask for a larger monitor for Christmas, as I'd like to run at 1280x1024. [ 10-19-2002: Message edited by: Khyron ]

another 1280x1024x32 here.
Though I keep meaning to switch to 1280x1024.
Likely can go higher, got the graphics card for it, but B-17s are better than any other desktop scheme I have found
To understand this, it is first necessary to determine how many different ways one pixel can be drawn. Since the majority of the people out there run at 32-bit, I'll use it. 32-bit means that the color can be defined in 32 digits of binary (imagine 00000000000000000000000000000001 00000000000000000000000000000010 etc.). The most common way of doing this is breaking up the color into 24 bits of colors and 8 bits of transparentness data called the alpha channel. This means that in colors alone, there are 2^24 colors available (think 8bits for each color Red Green and Blue). 2^24 is 16.7 million, so most people have 16.7 million colors possible for each pixel on the screen plus the 8-bit alpha channel.
On a 1600X1200 monitor, there are approximately 1920000 pixels (Just calculate 1600*1200). This means that 1,920,000 pixels can each pick one of 16,777,216 colors (theoretically). The proper way to show this is 16,777,216^1,920,000 (Using probability, you could see this as (16,777,216C1)^(1600*1200) since that's how many outcomes there are). I have no clue as to what this number is, but it's huge. My little TI-86 can only work with 999 digits and this number is clearly over the thousands of digits.
Monitors are whack, yo. [ 10-19-2002: Message edited by: »Waisztarroz« ]
