I've been watching the news about the Queen's Jubilee tour of Canada, and someone in power there (the deputy prime minister?) said he didn't want her, but was shot down by virtually everyone else in the country. I was curious as to how our Commonwealth compatriots on this board feel about the subject.

Generally, us Canadians don't really give a hot damn. Other than her face on some of our money, we don't really pay much attention to her.

The answer was simple : The Queen - It keeps with the tradition of our nation, as well as keeping ties with our 'mother country'.
But in the end, it's not all that important. If we changed to a Republic tomorrow, we'd still live and be the same people we were today.
