Just curious. I didn't know if your musculature was different, or if the bone spur was sort of on a free-floating pivot joint or if it was just a calcigenous deposit jutting from your dermis through your epidermis.

I'd say the musculature is different. He's particularily strong, too.
And the bit with it just from the dermis wouldn't work.. they'd come out easier than teeth that way.

depends. Loosely you're right it's a distinct possibility. But if they were skin mounted spikes, I imagine the cause (evolution, bizarre mutation, or even the fact his body can withstand carrying the extreme loads his added strength allows) would toughen up the body to hold it in. Could have "roots".

But altered musculature is much more easily explained
