I'll take that challenge!

The operation was a complete success.

Scott's made me remember how pethetic he is.
With that said: I vote Taran's.
-carl, can do both.
It's a very simple technique he's proven to like to use in the past (most recent being the Small press thing)
...but why is there such animosity towards Kurtz?
The thread was cooling off, here is some more gasoline

He was rather . . . uncomplimentary towards other artists that didn't share his particular "view" on websites and commercialism.

Drysart / Taran was one of those artists in question.
Practicaly everyone else filled in the reasons.
That and he called Calvin and Hobbes artist a hack and calls all web comics worthless because they don't make monies off of it.
He's a sell out to. He made his comic to knee jerk gaming companies and such, now he tries to ass kiss for free products and uses his "oh so famous comic" as a reward for them "Give me this, you can be in my next strip!"
Then there was that whole Spy.com thing. >.<
He licensed books with his comics in them and that was it. No Hobbes plush dolls. No snowman construction kits. No t-shirts. Just plain LOVE OF THE CHARACTERS.
Kurtz and I don't see eye to eye on his opinions of online comics. But, I dont have anything personally against him. Calling Mr. Watterson a hack though... **shakes his head**. Do you have a link to whatever rant it was that he criticized Bill Watterson and/or Calvin & Hobbes? [ 10-01-2002: Message edited by: Woody ]

What about all the decals you see of Calvin peeing on something?

I think that it isn't actually Calvin, just a character they made to be really really close, but never actually claiming to be Calvin, thus avoiding any legal issues
Because, really, why would Calvin pee on something? It was obviously made by someone that has never read the comic

It's a speach Bill Watterson gave called "The Cheapening of the Comics".
Warning, the following is not to be read by anyone who is offended easily. It may or may not reflect the views of the poster as it was made mostly for effect from Kurtz.

Sounds good. Please never read my comic strip again.

Subject: Wow, your comic sucks.
If it even deserves to be called a comic. I mean, honestly, who's gonna laugh at your stupid shit? This isn't about the furry thing; you could mostly call me anti-furry. Your comic was just recently brought to my attention. Your jokes are stupid, your artwork sucks, and you misrepresent the gaming/nerd community. I could write an essay on this, but what'd be the point of me wasting my time on your lame ass?
Maybe some day something cool will happen, like a bus running you over.
Name(s) removed to protect the innocent.
Remember, this e-mail was basically to see how Kurtz would respond. I guess he has an outline since he has to reply to so much hate mail. Either that, or everyone who sends him e-mail is told to stop reading his comic.

(Okay, I have nothing against Blindy aside from his constant failing attempts at waving his cock around, but that was too easy to pass up.)
