The ignore function is temporarily disabled, meaning you'll see everyone you were previously ignoring. As soon as I figure out why the server's been running slow the past couple of days, I'll re-enable it.

Oh no.....

This brings bad tidings for my angst.

But, I can deal.

Eh, I removed the two people on my ignore list yesterday anyway.

As long as it's working again by the time someone else starts saying really stupid stuff, I'll be happy.

.....

Shit, too late.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

Ah ha! Apparently the folks at Verant implemented an "item link" feature in EQ, like the one in AO. In game, someone can send you a "link" to an item that you can click to view an item's stats.

Some people have been getting links to pretty powerful items, been posting on message boards asking if the items were legit (they are, since the in-game item link feature only links to the EQ item database), and people have been posting the URL to the Uber Item Generator, so it's been getting a lot of hits lately.

I've disabled it, so the boards should start speeding up. I'll re-enable the ignore feature tomorrow if things are running smooth.

I get one every three months, and that doesn't count.

Don't really read much, do you?

You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.

If there's a red dot that says "foe" next to someone's name, does that mean they have me on ignore and I can insult them and belittle them all I want as long as it's not slanderous because they can't hear me and no one really cares?

I just made a massive improvement to the boards that reduces the amount of processing they do by 75%.

I honestly have to wonder what made Tim make the optimization today instead of when the SQL was put up initially.

I also wonder what he could have done.
