OK, so I'm in Klauth's lair in act three. The ritual book says if I let him absorb a dead dragon, he will become greatly weakened. What I'm curious about is will he become weak enough for me to kill, or is he still totally impossible? Furthermore, what exactly is the best sequence for doing this? Should I talk to Klauth, go back and kill the dragon, then go back to Klauth and fight him, or something else entirely?

I offed the dragon, made the sphere, talked to Klauth, gave him the tainted sphere then whooped his ass.

But I was playing a Monk. YMMV as all other classes are pathetic choir boys in comparison.

Funny thing..I misread the text and just imprisoned the live blue dragon in the sphere..so I had to take out Klauth the old fashioned way...by whooping his arse! ^.^

Note: I played a full wizardess with the half-orc barbarian henchman. It took a few trips back and forth with the recall stone and unleashing all my spells on him to kill him, but it works.

But did you get the Red Dragon armor? Well, I guess it doesn't matter. But Red Dragon armor is, you must admit, pretty badass.
