The first anime I truly enjoyed, was probably Voltron.

Then Robotech. But neither one really got me into the genre really deeply.

The one that did that, was Trigun. I love Trigun. It's easily the best anime ever. REALLY memorable characters, awesome plots, etc.

The 2nd anime I got into, was Love Hina. This is mainly due to the fact that I got it the same time I got Trigun. I like it, mainly because the lack of earth-threatening-dire-situations makes a nice change of pace.

Then the third, is Outlaw Star. I love this, mainly because it gives you a main hero who isn't two steps below god in terms of power (Unlike most other animes).

The fourth, is Record of Lodoss War. I liked this one, it was another good change of pace from guns and ships and such.

The fifth, now, is Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I just got past episode 23 of EVA. I don't know if I like it or not. The show is cool, but SO depressing. The giant mechs are neat, except the fight scenes tend to SUCK, and the only cool parts come from when Unit 01 goes berserk... and when that happens it behaves more like a monkey, which isn't cool at all. Well, it sorta is, but not in the way it should be. The series puts way too much emphasis on the mental instabilities of everyone in it. It's like a series full of FF7 Clouds, and FF8 Squalls. =/ Tomorrow I'll finish the series, and make a more thorough post regarding my feelings on the subject... Until then, good night~!

if you liked loddoss war you definately should check out berserk, its great

Berserk is awesome. I just rented that from Blockbuster the other day.

Now once you finish the series you're going to have to buy the movies to actually see the real ending to the series. The last two episodes are actually the "we're outta money so we have to throw something together" ending.

They only had volumes 1 and 2 on DVD. Went from episodes 1 to 9 IIRC. I'd like to get my hands on the rest.
