I vote PSX/PS2. It just feels very natural to me, and has enough buttons that it can perform quite a few functions.

Only four buttons and a d-pad, how much simpler could you get? ^_^
or something

Yeah, the Playstation controllers are the most logical, but the Xbox controller feels jolly in my handsor something
I don't think I ever want to hear about ANYTHING feeling jolly in your hands.
they changed very little from the original design for a reason. home run.
though it limits the buttons, not every game needs 14 different buttons, in fact most don't. but then, some may need more than 8, somehow.
PS2's my favorite.

I like the GameCube controller. PS2 comes in a close second.
I like PSX/PS2 the best, even though my fingers get really sore when I play Tekken 3. (I like to shift my hands alot when I play and it gets uncomfortable to try to move my hands fast enough.)
the GC Wavebird controller comes in at a close second though.
and i've always found the PS2/PSX controllers to be just about useless for anything other than RPGs. it's just that they don't fit right in my hands. i can't explain it better than that.

All these new '249235 button controllers' are lame.

Not only is it a good shape, but have you ever really paid attention to the vibration setup in these things?
It has two seperate motors for vibration. One with a small weight that it can rev up for "shaking" vibration. The second has a larger weight, and it can be controlled on a "per rotation" level, allowing them to use it to create larger "boom" vibrations.
Sure, some games don't make use of that, but some do. I like that extra touch.
I still have to say that the PS2 controller beats the X-Box controller, just because it comes down to having two L and R buttons. I hate the fact that I'm using my thumbs for 90% of the controller, when I have 8 perfectly good other fingers doing almost nothing.
FPS, and I'll go with keyboard/mouse. Speaking as someone who played -AND BEAT- Red Faction both on PC and PS2, for FPS games you just can't get ease of control with any console controller.
But for platform games, PS2 controller rocks the hizouse, baybee.

Game And Watch.
I would so use it again if they had it for any other system

They're releasing one for the computer.

Gamecube controller would be perfect if it had a bigger D-pad
ps/ps2 controller's d-pad SUCKS ASS... sorry
original nintendo controller gave me blisters from the sharp corners.
The SNES controller is truly the mother of all controllers! it was perfect.

Red Faction PS2
see, the Dual Shock controller sucks more balls for FPS games than a crack whore rocker at the anual "Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll In That Order" convention.
but even though i agree with you that you can't get the control with a controller that you can with a keyboard and mouse, the Xbox and (mabey, need to wait for Metroid) the GC controller come close. [ 08-10-2002: Message edited by: Geeorn ]
I HATE the N64 controller, it's the most unwieldly piece of crap I've ever tried to use...
EXCEPT when it comes to FPSs! After Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark, no other console controller feels right...

Yes ladies and gentlemen. I speak of the one, the only, VIRTUAL BOY CONTROLLER.
