Let's see... a story.

Well. There was once a great warchief known as Tori the Beligerent. She was of unsurpassed beauty, but also housed a soul unmatched in savagry and brutality.

A bold human leader, and a king in his own right, won her heart. His name was Bajah the Bold (and Handsome and Sexy). The two of them met on the field of battle to fend off an oncoming force of the Undead and the bl00 Elves of Siberia.

Bajah's forces built a clean wall of buildings to blockade his town hall and to protect his lowly peasants, for he was a good king and cared much even for the small people.

He quickly made short work of a few ogres and golems that made their lairs near his base and sent a few peasants in to build a new town hall at a freshly discovered goldmine.

At the same time, many footmen and dwarven riflemen were joining his cause, as well as a great dwarven mountain king and a highly respected archmage.

On the other end of the field, his beloved Tori set her orcs to work building a fearsome base with many rigid defenses. She, too, defeated monsters that laired near her chosen place of fortification. She expanded to a nearby goldmine as quickly as her love and built many sturdy orcish towers up to defend it.

A large group of forces from each camp met near a goblind merchant and defeated a group of ogres that dared block their progress and they shopped for a moment before they were under siege from a large force of undead minions and huntresses!

Their combined efforts made short work of the enemy forces and then pushed on their attack towards a suspected undead base. Despite their hard work, they were outgunned and had to retreat briefly. It was only a minor setback.

Warchief Tori's expansion base became under attack! But her towers and orcs drove them off so quickly, it was a clear surprise. She shouted "defens eet u!" as they ran away, tails tucked.

The retreating forces met with Bajah's renewed battalion and he made short work of their hero with a stunning hammer as the rest of the forces retreated from his towerline!

Bajah and Tori quickly replaced their lost forces and added in new units, such as more shamen, tauren, priests, and sorcereresses (goddamn that's a big word). They pushed down and around a valley, sticking to short paths!

Encountering the Elven Huntresses and Undead Minions again, Bajah and Tori tore through them with reckless strength and undeniably powerful magic! The elves and undead fled before their might!

Pressing the attack and bringing in reinforcements, Bajah and Tori kept to the small paths to maximize their area of effect abilities, continuing to kill golems and trolls and other woodland beasts that dare stand in their way.

On a final pass, after securing new gold mines for both warlords, they moved their groups southward through the middle of the battlefield. It was apparent that the Elves thought they could sneak through the middle and catch the warlords by surprise. However, the surprise was for them!

Tori's units swept through their defensive line like it was toilet paper. Her tauren chieftan ripped through skeletons and necromancers with a single burst of flame while Bajah's archmage rained icy death upon them. The dwarven mountain king hit an avatar-like rage and destroyed the enemy heros with a fearsome growl!

It was a sweep! No enemy unit remained.

The battlefield cleared and a cry from the elven lord rang through the air.

"omg"

With his cry of defeat, the elven lord fled the field of battle, soon followed by his undead companion.

Tori and Bajah were victorious. I could say that they celebrated later, but that's another story altogether.

(There's your damn story.)

First of all, conga rats! Putting the heat on a Huntress abusing Night Elf players is always satisfying.

"omg" roofles

Anywho, congratulations aside, there are some things I saw that could have helped you.

[list]

  • You had over 3500 gold... but weren't training any knights?

  • Although the NE and UND forces certainly did shy away from the half dozen towers you had at your expansions... you had a half dozen towers at your expansions! That's an expensive venture, for Humans especially.
2-3 towers behind some Farms will generally suffice for any expansion, and because these were right around the corner from your main bases, even that number was optional.

  • Suchii, you've got to break this habit of destroying your own buildings

  • If you want to get a Hero out right now, start your Altar of Kings immediately after the game starts, and have your other four Peasants help build it. It'll be done in a few seconds, with a Hero shortly to follow.

  • I don't really have anything to say here except... what was that Nightie thinking with three Heroes?

  • Getting back to the first thing I said, Footmen do fine in the earliest parts of the game, but once you have a Castle and Animal War Training, switch to the high armour and HP Knights for the vanguard of your army.
Pretty much everything in the game eats footies for lunch. Yeah, yeah, Defend makes them almost immune to Piercing attacks... but it won't save them from ten Bloodlusted Grunts!
You can still use the cheap, fast-to-build l'il guys to quickly flesh out an army or recoup from a loss, but don't count on them to hold the line against anything bigger than a Ghoul (or another Footman ).

  • This is a pretty minor thing, but I noticed that your Arch Mage went largely ignored for a minute or two after his creation. What happened there?
  • Once more into the breach, my friends, once more. We'll close the wall with our dead. In peace, nothing so becomes a man as modesty and humility, but when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with rage and lend the eye a terrible aspect.

I only build those defenses because it does not hurt my economy. I would rather have a well defended base to fall back on, rather than having 2k gold just sitting there

Aye, those guys we played were not the greatest players in the world, but come on. We are far from it too ^_^

And I accidentally ported into my enclosed expansion there. I had to kill a tower and a burrow to get my hero out :x

I'm still learning to micromanage, Sentow. Plus I'm not used to having two heros... so I kinda forgot about him.

And I meant to make knights... but I got caught up in the heat of battle and uh... forgot that too.

And everytime I don't fortify my expansions, especially on that map.. I lose it.
