While I am most grateful for this tidbit, its not that needed, my Knowledge of guns is very good (living with "gun enthusiasts" and watching Tales of the Gun religiously has educated me well, as do my weekly trips to ye local firing range).
In response to the second part, the garands I saw were near mint condition, and were for 450 (50 bucks cheaper), so yeah.
