The more I use it, the more I realize I really hate that piece of blue crap.

For some reason obviously related to user-friendliness, Win XP decided to save all the network share passwords I used and automatically use them at start-up.

Now, whenever I try to log on a user that has something else than read-only permissions, all I get is this fucking NetBIOS crap error that says I can't use 2 different users to access the same share.

A big Fuck You to Microsoft for ever making Windows XP.

I still use win2k, much more stable.

'User-friendly' usually translates into the OS doing something without telling you. Where as win2k is basically a server OS, much more control.

I already have Linux, and I already have a Mac. Bite me, OP.

I considered switching back to Win2K, but there's too many hardware fixes in XP that I'd rather not lose. I ended up banning the user WinXP automatically used to replace it when XP prompted for a password.

XP = luv.

2K with all the service packs and stability is good, but the amount of things i like about XP outweigh it.

Like the fact that XP doesnt go all gimpy on me, it takes other companies software to make me crash out, and only then when it forces me to use fullscreen mode.

BTW.. Heather Graham inna silver Miniskirt = luv.

Do you really think I'm stupid? You can't change it afterwards.

Supposedly unmapping and disconnecting the drive and remapping it is supposed to do it... Yeah, it was unmapped, but it still reconnected automatically, and still couldn't specify the other username. Since I did make sure the option wasn't unchecked, it was either a bug or an unchangable setting. I had to resort to ::dun dun dun:: linux to make it work.

I have never seen a watch sold that was set to proper time. Ever.

Physics dictates that it's impossible. Once the watch is moved from a position of rest it is no longer in proper time. Typically the watches aren't sold in the same timezone they're constructed in and I doubt that all the watches in the world are made at exactly midnight, which is the normal 'default' when the watch is initially powered on.

Unmap it, remap without checkbox, only thing I can come up with.

And no, I admit Win XP has some interesting features, but with no depth. I disabled the task pane because all the built-in options it suggested didn't have nearly the depth of what specialized apps could do...

You're backwards on 2 things.

(1) 98 was the more stable of the 2. It was 95 with additional fixes and patches.

(2) The "shell overlay" you're talking about is "98 Lite". That was when some guys figured out how to splice a few things to get rid of IE 4.0 completely from the system.
