I dual wield a:
Astral Blade +1
Feyduster +1
Have 19 STR, 15 dex (for ambidexterity), have that feat that adds 2 to damage with a weapon for both longswords and shortswords.
My longsword (primary hand) shows as 1d8+6 damage, then shows the additional 1 physical. that seems correct.
BUT my shortsword shows 1d6+2. It seems wrong. Am I misunderstanding the dual wield rules? When I put the Short sword in my main hand it shows 1d6+6 like it should.
Im probably being a dumbass and missed something in the rules. But...anyone know whats up?
Thanks. [ 07-06-2002: Message edited by: Falaanla Marr ]
The way to minimize it to the maximum is to have Two-Weapon-Fighting AND Ambidexterity (and later upgrade 2-weapon fighting to Improved 2-weapon-fighting).
The only feat I can think of that increases damage is Weapon Specialization. To get it (by 3e standards) you need to have Weapon Focus in the weapon as well as Specialization, and you have to take it with each weapon. So for Longsword and Short Sword you have to take Weapon Focus: LS, Weapon Focus: SS, Weapon Specialization: LS, and Weapon Specialization: SS.

Also... for a weapon in both hands you ad 1.5X your str bonus as well.

Off-Hand Weapon: When you deal damage with a weapon in your off, you add only one-half of your strenght bonus.Also... for a weapon in both hands you ad 1.5X your str bonus as well.
Thanks much, that explains some of it.
And I have weapon focus and spec in both LS and SS, Deth. So, if I add half my STR bonus, shouldnt I still get +4 damage?
